Unleash x FTP'ing

Alright. Ive put probably 10 hours on trying to figure this out and I have basically gotten no where. I would like to be able to run xbmc as an appliction on my modded x box. I am using unleash x as my dashboard. I have downloaded (numerous times) xbmc. When I download it it is a .rar file. I cannot extract these files on the PC. Im sure I can i just dont know how. SO what I do is I ftp the xbmc.rar file to my xbox and extract the files in the unleash x dashboard. I'm not sure if thats what I should do bc I have not once ran xbmc. I do not know how or where to open it. I need to: --know what to ftp to my xbox?
-where to ftp?
- and ultimately what steps do i need to take to run it?
Ne help will be greatly appreciated bc right now im just tired and frusterated. Thanks

download WinRAR and extract it. Then ftp xbmc folder to apps folder on xbox

I downloaded WinRAR and extracted the files then ftp them over to the xbox. I had to creat an apps folder to ftp them to bc there isnt a default one or not one i could find. This dint work. Where exactly on my xbox can i find the place to ftp them?

do you have F drive? the apps folder should be in F drive
Ex:
F:\games\
F:\apps\

I have an F drive but there is no content in it it just says zero kb then there is nothing in it. and the games is in the E drive but there is no apps section in it. Is this odd for someone using unleash x?

Oh! you have stock hdd. Ok do this on pc. Extract XBMC to XBMC folder. Then ftp the XBMC folder to E drive on Xbox.

What do you mean "extract XBMC to XBMC folder" where is the XBMC folder?

Create an XBMC folder on pc. Then Extract the content of xbmc.rar to XBMC folder.

you should have something like this inside the xbmc folder:
C:\xbmc\
...
...
default.xbe
Then ftp to xbmc folder to E drive.
On unleash goto file manager, then E then xbmc and click on default.xbe.
Xbmc will launch

inside the folder i have the xbmc program. then i have two more directories (mplayer) + (XBMC) then in each of thos I hvae a million more directories. Ive searched and searched these directories(this is where most of my ten hours were used up) but ive never found a default.xbe???

u think u could help me with this process a little bit. like where to download the default.xbe and then where to put it. I do have xbe's on my xbox like thats how I start the games i burn i got to default xbe but there just isnt one for xbox media center

You have download the whole thing for xbmc. Not download the default.xbe. The file you downloaded is incomplete.

i am downloading the one from the actuall xbox media center website. I think it is one I have already tried. Does this one work should it? or am i just not looking for the default.xbe in the right place.

I dont think you got a right one. Because they won't let you download at their site. It is illegal. The one you downloaded is something else. Not the actual XBMC.

all right. But the one u gave me a link for that link doesnt work and i can only find the one that I've got. and also im putting in a larger hdd and when i try to burn the linux.iso to a cd i cant bc it is to big. DO i have ne other options
