i am thinking about backing up Fight Night Round 3 for my Flip-top ps2... i use Swap Magic DVD 2.0 USA build. Can i just back it up like i usually do... save the iso with DVD Decryptor and then burn the iso onto a DVD .. would that work fine?
i've been to swapmagicfix.com and no fight night is even listed on there
edit: and should i use a DVD-R or +R ? (i have a v7 ps2 and i believe all my other backed up games are -R)

What's Up!? I just rented and burned Fight Night Round 3 for PS2. I usually use DVD Decrypter by itself, but this game requires some other steps. Here they are:
1.) Use DVD Decrypter, as usual to rip the game (.iso file) onto your computer.
2.) Click here http://ps2burns.host.sk/tools.html to download Gnie's Auto Rebuilder. This is used to rebuild the game and makes it smaller.
3.) Once it loads up, go to the top-left corner where it says "Plugins" and select Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi. Then click the "Open" button and select your .iso file.
4.) There are 4 button on the bottom-left corner. First press "Extract LBA" then "Extract File" then "Rebuild File" then finally "Rebuild LBA". This should take a little bit of time so don't worry.
5.) Once that process is finished, simply exit out and go back to DVD Decrypter. Go to the "Write" mode and select your new .iso file as the one you want to burn. It will be in the same folder as the original .iso file that you previously ripped (Example: If Fight Night Round 3.iso was on C Drive then your rebuilt file will also be on C Drive but titled something like NEW-Fight Night Round 3).
6.) The new .iso file should be noticeable smaller. Just select it and burn it like you normally would. The game might seem alittle off, but thats to be expected. No big deal though.
P.S. Just burn it the same way. I personally use DVD+R cuz that's what my burner handles. I also use SwapMagic DVD 2.0 and works great.
Enjoy!

hey thanks for the reply... i've been searching around these boards and found that some people didnt even have to shrink it and it still played ok (since the file is less than 4.7GB) so i'm not sure what to do when/if i decide to back it up

What's Up!? Mine wouldn't play at all and someone suggested that I shrink it. I also heard, dunno if it's true, that the SwapMagic DVD 2.0 won't work for a game over 4.36GB. You could try doin it normal first and if it doesn't work then shrink it. Peace!
P.S. Have you ever burnt College Hoops 2K6 for PS2? I'm havin trouble with it. Any ideas or places I could find answers?
