Just wondering, are those soft zippered cd/dvd cases that hold like 50 cd's in one soft case bad for your disks. Should i get hard cases?

I heard that a lot of people use them, some AfterDawn Addicts, too! Just don't use the ones that are like higher than 250 in a case!!! too bulky they say.

The main thing is to be sure they are stacked vertically keeping added uneven weight and pressure off the discs.

beltline- the main thing other than what the previous posters said is to make sure that the zippered caes / bimders are good quality & don't pick up dirt and grit interrnally ! this could transfer to your dvds/ media and scratch them which you dont want! Just my personal choice choice I would use DVD Cases either Full size or if strapped for storage space Slim line DVd Cases ! I have bought and used The Verbatin Slim -DVD cases & rate them exc excellent ! They are available @ SAMSCLUB and are about .25 each in quantity ! Also keep in mind beltline my friend that DVD media ( DVD+R, DVD-R ect. ) are more succeptable to scratching / getting scratched than are CDR disc hence my Caveat on using zippered cases / Binders ! AS long as you don't get omes that are yoo large and cumbersome like previously mentioned by the other posters to this thread & are careful not to damage your dvd's you should be fine ! Also I kinda like printing the DVD case labels too But to each his or her own I guess ! Good luck regardless & Happy Burning My friend !

BIGTOXY69 - I really didn't want to get into a debate over storage. Personally 99% of all my backups are stored in Dvd Cases. I would never use a cd/dvd wallet - binders. Just my preference. However all I said was:

The reason that was all I said is because people will differ on almost everything else, but almost all will agree with the storing of them vertically. I would never recommended cd/dvd wallets - binders because I don't use them. Others do, and to each his own. I have also read that if you do use them not to get the bulky one's. Which makes complete sence.

hey thanks guys im probably gonna go with the hard cases.

Do any of you know the answer to this question?

I have a bunch of movies that are DVD rips that got compressed into DivX format. Now my question is, is it worth it to buy dvd-r's and burn these DivX movies back onto a DVD-R. This is what i currently do. i use Nero 7 premium and open up Nero then click on burn dvd movie and drag and drop the XviD file onto Nero and click burn. Will there be a gain in quality?
