hi,first post here. i riped to the disk these three movies using dvdfab decrypter and then shrink to compress them, but shrink gives me an error(invalid navigation structure) even with the re-author option.i searched several forums and installed anydvd,dvdfab platinum and dvd region+css free , it was said that these programs would work. i still have the movies in the hard drive and tried to use the programs but it still gives me the same error. i riped with anydvd and burned it with nero but it only has a small piece of the movie and all the menus. my question is if i can use the movies in my hard drive or if i need the original dvd's to rip them all over again with these new programs?
if i can use them, how should i do it?

You are going to need VobBlanker. Below is a guide and you can use Shrink instead of Recode. You can use the files you ripped previously if you ripped the whole disk. You also might have a bad authored master disk as AnyDVD should take care of it as would DVDFAB Decrypter. VobBlanker will correct the structure problems if there are any. I did all three and if I remember correctly these movies had no real problems. If it messes up again then it has to be a bad rip or disk
If you are serious about backing up movies with quality results, You must have VOB BLANKER and AnyDVD for backing up your flicks period. I would then strongly suggest Nero to burn and for ease of use and it's many other supporting options. Most of the older and free programs take you through lots of now un-needed steps which turns into often time wasted. SHRINK is another nice program to have around. Remember if you have a bad playing original, you will duplicate the poor characteristics found on the original or bad copy. Avoid cheap media. SONY & VERBATIM are on sale all of the time at least once a month at your nearest electronics and family store retailer. To see the abilities 1st hand found in the programs mentioned I suggest you try using the original copy 1st so you have something to compare the copy to. Also be patient everyone develops techniques for this and you will develope your own based on what computer equipment DVD burner etc you have to work with.:P
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
i've done 2 of the above films (Stealth & Longest Yard) with DVDFab Decrypter followed by DVD Shrink; the only thing to check is if there is blank space at the beginning of the films; if so just use the start/end frames feature of DVD Shrink to remove the blanks space..
