I rented Arena Football, and couldn't play the ORIGINAL game with the flip top cover. It would freeze, then I would hear what sounded like a grinding sound with the disc. I found I had the same problem with my original (older version) Smackdown vs Raw. I can play some of my other original games (haven't tried them all yet), and I can play some my backups. Does anyone know of any other problems like this? Any suggestions?

first off is it a slimline or a chunky PS2?
I know on my older chunk one when i bought a flip top, i stuck it on and nothing would play, i found that when i screwed in the screws on the bottom that it made it too tight. So i removed them and put the top back on and it worked fine.

BEAUTY!

Removed the screws, got Smackdown to play. Having a few problems with my backup of Arena, but I think I did a bad copy job...I'm going to try another one.

SUCCESS!! My new copy of Arena worked brilliantly. That was exactly the problem. Now my question...ONLY the SwapMagic DVD "grinds" now, and I'm worried about what happens if it gets damaged. Can it be copied?

no, it can't, well it can but you would need an original copy of Swap Magic to load it like any other back up.
Glad to see you got it working.
I liked the first Smackdown VS Raw much better than 2006
They are starting to make it to complicated and a lot less fun than it use to be. They counter way to many of your moves in the new one.
