Recently i was burning a DVD and decided to try a new DVD disc. In the past I have been using Verbatim and they work great but lately I have using Maxell -R and Ridata+r and so far I have more coasters than movies with Maxell and no movies and many coasters with Ridata. Every time it comes up wit an I/O message for them and not for the Verbatim. I do use Shrink then Decrypted them. Any suggestions on this? thanks

Try updating the firmware on your burner. It may be having some trouble with the different media.

why did you change brands? i would stick with the verbs. these are one of the top brands & i have hundreds of succesful burns on them with not 1 bad disc. if you can, stick with them

every time I tried to update the firmware I screw everything else up so I tried to stay away from that. I have a Benq 1620 burner. I will give it a shot

Well how did you make out.

I use TY's myself and have never had a coaster with them.

Downloaded the updated firmare and tried a few ridata at a slower spped 4x and so far I burned 2 movies successfully. we will see.
