Mord: Jasper44 gets the inside scoop on some of those stores. Staple's web site is where I get their sale early. Just go to staples.com and find nearest store. It'll have some icons to see current circular and upcoming circular.
I haven't found such a feature of Office Depot.com. I don't look at too many newspapers to get the ads in. Jasper44 is the king at getting the latest scoop of what's coming up on sale on sundays!

YUDEN000 T02.Get em while ya can I say! Burning all @ 8x? I will IF they're Quality Media. I say I only burn TY's & Verb 16x @ 8x because that's all I have now. I want to try some Hitachi Maxell's, but have yet to find any at a "decent" price.

I saw this thread late, so what im talking about is on the 1st page of this. Its when we start relating our own personal stories on getting stuck with crap media. We all have our favorite utter rubbish, worst, crappy, not even worthy of having the name MEDIA attached to it, personal one. Usually its the last one, as we head here and find out memorex has some real crap, and it wasnt something we were doing wrong, other than using bad media. I for one, will always hate CMC the most, as it cost me the most, in time, money, and not just a little bit of my remaining sanity. Now, i kinda give it away with my sig, but sometimes we members get attacked because of our personal beliefs on media, good and bad. I say, in the most respectful way i can on this, its MY opinion and I am sticking with it! I dont need a lot of tests to back this up, you either believe my story or you dont. CMC sucks! We can all learn from others painful situations without having to go thru the same thing ourselves.
Ive been burned by bad media, and not in the good way. From that point on, i have stuck with TYs, Verbs, and some Riteks. It didnt take a lot of rocket science to figure this out. Logic worked better.
I always check this thread when im looking to restock my media supply.

Circuit City still has the 50 pack of Sony 8X DVD-R's on sale for $14.99, instore only. Oddly, the +R's are not on sale this week. PM at Staples for $13.50 with their 110% PM policy. 50 packs also available at Best Buy, Compusa, Walmart, and Sears. Remember to look for the Octagonal spacer on the -R MIJ 50 packs for the TY's (TYG02)

These guys know what they are doing. :) They can speak for themselves, but i think i know them well enough to say that. 4x is the best burn speed to start with, and in many cases stick with. Doc is going much faster than 8x burns, and will be doing 18x very soon.. :) somebodys gotta test that edge, i trust these two to do the test for me in a virtual kind of way. Im patient, ill wait and see what works, but for me, sometimes 8x is too much, and i currently am playing with 6x burns. Turtle back here, lets let those rabbits run by us :). They are way too fast for me.. Im not even in a race, except for quality, and thats a personal/relative thing here. What works best for you, thats the best quality. If you can improve it by burning faster, then try that, but beware, and test more often, anytime you go beyond 4x burns. Just a suggestion.

why burn at 4x? I have been using the verbs 16x and burning at 16x with no problem. I even did some quality tests of the discs and all scores have been 93 or better. I am using the Sony 810 external burner to burn these movies. Should i continue to burn at 16x??

I burned at 16x and with new burner DW1650 and got 97 with the disc quality yesterday. no playback issues so far.
does anybody know what happened to the supermedia sale
100 4x Taiyo Yuden at 14.99 after rebate?? It must been a quick sale because i try to find it and its not there anymore. There used to be a thread with the link for that item. Whoever find it again would you please post it again?? The only reason i wasnt interested at it was because it was for 4x and also i was too busy stocking up on the verbs. After thinking about it and i thought those Taiyo Yuden were really cheap after the rebate that is.
thanks guys
