Very Confusing problem with my PSP if anyone can help!

...I will shit myself and then jump for joy! I have had GTA(UMD disc) loaded in my PSP and have been playing it for some time now. I don't know when it happened or why but when I try to save the game or leave and quit the game everything appears in japanese!? I can save my progress and go back to the game, only because I remember which one is yes and no, but cannot exit the game and go back to the PSP main menu. I took the GTA disc out and nothing but the same problem, I took out the memory card also but got the same problem and now I just took out the battery thinking perhaps that there may be some kind of hard reset if the battery is out too long????I know, that sounds dumb, but I bought this off of my friend months ago and didn't get the manual for it!? PLease help I would really appreciate it!

Im confused too,
Your psp is in Jap now its stuck in jap?
and everytime you use GTA it goes to jap?
Ive never heard of this problem but elaborate more and maybe i can help

Did you try restoring defult settings?
Steps to bricking a PSP:
1. Get a brick
2. Hit the psp with it untill it won't run any longer
Congratulations, your psp is now bricked.

Believe it or not, after I put the battery back in the psp and turned it on.....it seemed to have restored itself or something!? It is fine now after I adjusted the settings. Now I am trying to figure out how to downgrade from 2.50 to 1.50. I keep seeing tutorials on how to go from 2.0 to 1.5 or 1.0 but not for 2.50 does anyone know how to do it?

What if I restore to default settings? Please don't tell me that there is no way to get rid of the firmware that i have???? What can I do?

sit and wait , u can play homebrew tho get fanjitas 2.0+ brown ale homebrew loader , u can play gameboy colour snes etc , but not ISO's

sucks bro.. find a 2.0 or less ina store , buy it.. throw yours in the box and return it.
good store for that would be like target, not a bestbuy or somewhere likely to check.
or wait it out.. im sure one day it will be hacked.

dood we can only give you answers, we cant code a program for you. If you dont like the answers, dont let the door hit you on the way out.
Dont bag the coders, they are working their hardest to write these progs FOR FREE! If you can come up with sumthing better then pls go ahead.

you came and asked us a question and we answered. Its not our fault that its not downgradeable. We're just telling you how it is. No reason to act like that at all.
Never ask a question if you aren't ready for the answer.
I personally hope the door hits you on the way out. I don't mind answer and helping people, but I don't like ungrateful people.

Relax revenge of the nerds! I wasn't talking about any of you or your wonderful advice ok!? I just find it hard to believe that there is no way to downgrade from, of course once again, the one that I got. I appreciate the answers and help so stop the gang bang. Are these things sold with the updated firmware already or do they have to be updated by the person that bought it. because the person that sold it to me seemed to have upgraded it. PieceFull I apologize, Joeva you jumped in here just to say that??? kcc86 who are you? Who asked you? Trust me, just because i'm not the PSP mod expert doesn't make me a "noob". Got it kid?
