Here is another thread on this movie

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/317077

Do not know what you tried, and since this movie does not come out here until next week it is kind of hard to guess what the problem may be.

yeap, Fab and VobBlanker will backup anymovie.
my way. Fab/vobBlanker/recode2/copytodvd. 99.999% no problems.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

@ rick6, hey man how did you have the options set up on vobblanker, or was it set to default, I'm using dvdfabexpress then vobblanker but the movie keeps coming out with only the previews for other movies and the main menu for some reason--any help much appreciated

As with many Sony DVDs, this one came loaded with excess crap. As we speak, I'm running it through VOBB. I've blanked all the unnecessary stuff (including all those damn warnings). Once it's done with this, I'll be running it through Shrink to compress it--and I'm not expecting any errors :)

I'll post the results.

I never managed to get VobBlanker to work for me in fixing the Sony ARccOS FUBAR files but I found a new edition of something most all here now about that does fix the screwy Sony ARccOS files.

I just updated from DVDFab Decrypter version 2.9.6.0 to version 2.9.7.2 released 02/12/2006! A CORRECT DVD Shrink ISO file of Capote is being made as I speak! You'll find it fixes all the file problems automatically leaving the 'main' movie file as title 1 {something like 2 hours long in this case}.

Get it here for FREE HERE
DVDIdle.com/en/free.htm" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.DVDIdle.com/en/free.htm

Haven't tried it with Chicken Little yet ... Also "The Squid and the Whale" from Sony uses ARccOS. Happened to read in some financial news something about the SONY CEO telling a Sony VP they're spending too much money trying to protect their DVD movies with encryption.

What was the error you got with VOBB? If you check out the link in this forum, I just made a post describing how I did this one.

Regardless, I'm sure AnyDVD would handle this in conjunction with any program.

I just did movie only on this one, use AnyDVD and tried the ripper and then Nero Recode. It is exactly the same junk as was on The Fog. Movie only after removing the 2 channel audio shows no compression at all.

I was able to back up this movie using AnyDVD & CloneDVD2 This disc is loaded. You will need to most advanced decrypting sofware such as the two prgrams mentioned to back up this entire film with no trouble.;p

Capote=AnyDVD>DVDDecrypter>NeroRecode; recode would not open movie. AnyDVD and Decrypter will get files safely to a HDD probably 100% of the time.

I could not ger dvd shrink to even SEE the main movie files of this, or of The Squid and the Whale--must be some new kind of protection? So I used DVDFabDecrypter on both and they worked brilliantly--then I sorted with dvd shrink and the main movie files were there--anyone know the new protection that is being used and any other programs that have as much control over downloading as dvd shrink does? With DVDFabDecrypter you have to download the entire disc, and as I always ONLY burn the film--no menus, extras, etc.--this takes more time than the usual 10-12 minute download

razzi75 - Did youuse the latest DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.7.2 version released 02/12/2006? The fellah writing the DVDFab Decrypter program is constantly updating it with fixes to alleviate Sony ARccOS encryption problems. An earlier version of DVDFab Decrypter didn't work for me on Capote and The Squid and the Whale, but the latest version DID. 2.9.7.2 fixes problem on DVD Shrink encounteres from not locating the main movie when copying some Sony ARccOS protected DVDs, like "The Cave" and these two movies....

If it worked for you on Squid, it'll work for you on Capote since both are using the same Sony ARccOS encrypted form of protection... Did for me anywho... Just double checked Capote again in stand alone DVD player to make sure and the burn has the entire movie from start to finish...

Doing Capote as we speak, ripped with Fab, processed through blanker, and encoding with DVD-RB Pro and CCE. For those that are upgrading to DVDFab 2.9.7.2, are you all uninstalling your previous version of Fab before you install the update? You cannot install over an old version, it must first be uninstalled for the install to execute correctly.

edit: Uninstall old Fab, reboot, install Fab 2.9.7.2
