processed through blanker
There's really no need to process Sony ARccOS encrypted movies thru VoBlanker when using the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter. After first copying DVD to hardrive thru DVDFab Decrypter, you can then go directly to DVD Shrink for ISO image back up of full disc or re-author it.

Yes I have gone there but I see no mention of DVD Fab. Am I missing it?
After Dawn's automatic http address coding mistakenly links it to only DVDIdle.com - fatstrat managed to get it coded correctly even though it's the same address I posted.. DVDIdle.com/free.htm" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.DVDIdle.com/free.htm

@Adnihilo

I did the VobBlanker step as a precaution just because other people were having trouble with it and because I was using DVD-RB Pro and not shrink. Because DVD-RB takes so much more time than Shrink, I didn't want to chance an error in the middle of the process and have to start all over ;)

I uninstalled DVDFab before installing the new version. I even did it again today - it seems like a new version came out today. I tried again and am still having the same problem. When I open up the file with shrink it still has the movie under extras and lists it as 0kb

False alarm I used DVDfab- VOBlanker-DVDshrink-Nero
This is the way I do of all my backups anymore. I don't use DVD Shrink anymore since recode 2 is much faster and puts out the same quality.

One simple resolve, just download ANYDVD, have running in the back ground,while you run DVD SHRINK/Nero, "Backup" complete, http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html .

This program removes all trailors, sub titles etc ..

Odds are you're using an older version of DVDFab Decrypter that doesn't yet completely fix the Sony ARccOS encryption problems. Capote and Squid uses Sony encryption like used in 'the Cave' . The movie is less than two hours but you'll get bogus readings from Sony ARccOS encryption. Get the latest version found here on earlier posts

I did Capote with CloneDVD2 2.8.8.2, AnyDVD.5.9.1.1, and Region Free + CSS 5.9.7.2 and it did entire movie, menu's, extra's, everything in less than an hour. I did discover when CloneDVD2 has an error at start, a reboot will take it away. Biggest problem with that movie is the guy's voice, sounds like fingernails on a blackboard to me, get the heebie jeebies listening to him =)) That combo works for just about, if not, everything these days. Plus it's so easy to do, just start it, let it do its thing and you're done. no muss no fuss. Without a doubt worth the investment, afterdawn members get 20.00 off the slysoft stuff, making it that much sweeter.

I thought I too had updated DVD FabD to a later version a month ago or so, even after uninstalling the previous version - but still had the old version nonetheless. Be sure you 1st check the version number in program files of your root directory and if noit 2.9.7.2 version or later, be sure to delete everything in the DVDFab Decrypter folder after uninstalling again...

Right you are and TY
Also CloneDVD2 is now 2.8.9.2
Apparently in these cases it mattered not, got 'em easily.
Problem with the way the other folks are doings things, as I'm sure you're aware, is the time involved. Looks like they are set on fab decrypter(slow), shrink(slow), and I guess Nero. I had it backed up before fabdecrypter even read it.

I use AnyDVD and NeroRecode about 90% and use Shrink and Decrypter when needed. I also used advanced analysis in recode. Sometimes slow and steady wins the race. In other words a better DVD may result. I don't use CloneDVD2. I haven't needed that one yet. But can't fault that worthy program.

@garmoon

Kind of the the old tortoise and the hare analogy LOL
However I have compared quality of the various programs and combinations out there, as it matters very much to me as well, and there is no noticable drop off in quality vs speed with Clone. It has several modes and allows you to select/deselect just about everything on the disc. For example when a movie contains both full and widescreen versions, you can uncheck the one you dont want to get a better shrink ratio, same with sound, menus, directors comments, and other options etc. Very user-friendly. I highly recommend clone, Trial is free for 30 days. I've never tried recode, have to check that one out, sounds like a one step process as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Having trouble with Capote:

I used the newest DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.7.3. Then I ran it through DVDshrink and burned with Nero. I didn't get any errors in any part of the process. When I payed back the files within DVDshrink, the movie looked normal.

However, the discs I burned (tried several times) were all coasters. None were recognized by any DVD player. I have burned many DVDs with this burner and blank media, so that's not it. I even tried making a disc of the movie only - also a coaster. I'm mystified... Any suggestions? Could there be a bug in the newst release of DVDFab decrypter?

Here's the log of one of my burns. I ran Capote through DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.7.3. I opened those files in DVDshrink. I adjusted compression on some of the extras and replaced all the coming attractions with a still image (all within DVDshrink. The movie 'scanned' in DVDshrink playback just fine. The shrink process went without error as did the burn. Here's the log. Thanks for looking!

Set the target size to custom-4350. Burning to close to the rim but since these are Ty's I am not that concerned about it

This burn was done and verified by Nero. So what is wrong when you view the DVD? Are you sure these disks are no fake Ty's? Other have had this problem w/ that media code
