Woohoo--I finally did a lightscribe burn. The title that holds that honor is "Good Night, and Good Luck."

Question, though: Even though everything is legible, is there a way to increase the legibility? I know you can mess around with the contrast and do settings like "Best," "Good" or whatever to increase or decrease the amount of time to burn the lightscribe label, but is there anything else to help with the picture? It did come out a little faint.

Would it be better to set the picture to Black and White and then do the label with an even better contrast setting? I did the "best" quality (took ~25 minutes), but still, I'm thinking that the quality could be better.

I know Nero has a lightscribe option but I can't find it. Isn't it supposed to be under the "Extras" tab? The lightscribe drive is brand new and it came with the HP Pavilion my dad just bought. I upgrade its firmware and all that good stuff. But like I said, I didn't see the lightscribe option in Nero. Does it matter that I installed Nero before I upgraded the lightscribe media firmware?

My lightscribe etchings are not exactly the sharpest, and I have it set to the best quality you can get. And yes you need to reinstall Nero to have it find that you have a lightscribe drive. I had to on my old computer when I had my HP 640c and then again when I replaced it with my BenQ1625. What sw are you using, I used Sonic Express Labeler it worked pretty good.

Yep, the Sonic Labeler is what I used. I wanna try the Nero though.

I think i'm gonna try the black and white thing--to see if that increases the contrast/sharpness.

I have the Benq DW1655 L/S and I was not impressed with the way it L/S turn out. I think they have a ways to go. Any coments on this would be appreciated.

The color of the disc won't have anything to do with the quality of the lightscribe--at least, i don't think it will. It's just another marketing ploy.

I think if you change the picture of the label you want to burn to black and white, i think you can increase the contrast which will make it sharper which, in turn, will look much better.

I'll find out later. I should be burning a lightscribe disc today.

The quality of the disks is not bad, I used some of the lightscribe CD's also and they came up looking okay.

I'm just waiting for DVDRB to finish. I already set up my label to be burned (I set it to black and white and will try the best setting again).
