Like I said before and will say again, I apologize for that little outburst. This is my favorite forum and I don't want to get my ass banned from it for something stupid. I'm just frustrated after finding out that I have NO options at all and got my hopes up for nothing. Let's have a moment of silence for those of us out there with firmware version 2.50.......................Thank U! :)

I hear ya! I am on a site trying to find out alternate ways of which firmware each psp is running. Is there any consistent fail safe way to find out?

I understand and would have done the same. Back to my question, is there a way to tell from the box or from anything on the outside of the psp instead of turning it on what firmware version it is. Also one minor detail I may have left out in my original post. What if mine had been upgraded to 2.50 does that make any difference?

Thanks for the link. The only problem is that I don't think the people that would be willing to trade for mine still have the box....;( guess i'll just have to suffer and wait until they get home and check them by turning them on...;( Boo hoo. Again, thanks for all the help guys!

if your talkin about ISO's or a downgrader its anything from 2.00 and below not 2.01

Thank you Joeva! So I can't do anything with the psp firmware version 2.01 that I just traded w/ my friend? ;(......(as many many tears roll down my face). I guess all I can ask of you guys is to let me know if you see 1 for sale that I can work with? If not, thanks for all the amazing help and patience with me :) L8tr

Is that basically a step-by-step for 2.01 on how to run a Nintendo emulator? Or some type of emulator like that? That is what I took from it, but like in the past I could be totally wrong. I just want to find a TOTAL rundown on what I "can" pull off with my version 2.01 software PSP device. If I can't do anything withing the realm of being able to play Sony PSP games....I can't say that I am or will be that interested. I don't need another movie playback machine or mp3 player etc.. So if any of you, what I now consider friends because of the level of assistance and patience that you people have kept with my pain in the ass...ass, can keep me up to date or better yet figure or assist me in the direction of being able to mod my 2.01 device in a useful way, I will appreciate it beyond the universe as we know it! THANK U ALL in advance because I know that I CAN count on my AfterDawn.com forum MASTERS!!! Rock On guys Rock On!

you can play nes snes genesis and gb/gba games.
i personally have never done it as i have a 1.5 but read sudds guide it should help.
but the answer to your question is no you cant play psp backups only back ups to your snes, nes and genesis games

Fudge those people! Trust me you are helping more than just me with the information you have supplied for me. Just think of all the people with the same inquiry that put in a search and had been brought to this very post?????? Right? Trust me, anyone that is ignorant enought to say that you "type for nothing" or "are a waste of space" is just jealous that they don't know or have half the knowledge that you obtain when it comes to subjects such as this. Keep doin what you're doin, spread that knowledge and there will be tons and tons of greatful people like myself out there thanking you endlessly! the notepad with the pencil in the top right corner of your post will let you edit it, right next to offensive post...
dont take a chance, sometimes mods are forgiving sometimes they arent, so just change it dude.
