Sorry to ask a stupid question, but i cant find anything on movies only games. I also dont have a PS2 in the house as my brother has it in uni so i cant test it. The problem is I have a DVD of videos and my friend want to play them but only has a PS2. I was wondering will the DVD play on the PS2 or does it need a mod chip to play Burned DVDs. The DVD is encoded and plays on all DVD players.

as long as the region code and format (PAL/NTSC) of the disk are the same as the console it'll play just fine.
