EJECT/RESET BUTTON HELP PLEASE

I was cleaning the laser this morning but unfortunately the silver ribbon came away from underneath the drive. As far as I can tell, it has not been damaged.

I think I can see where it slides back in (a bay underneath drive next to 3 wires). I just can't get the damn thing in!

Is there a way of removing the bottom of the ps2 to make it more accessible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that may also help, it is a tutorial with pictures on how to install the eject/reset ribbon cable

Just don't use too much force...that's how I ended up paying $50 (along w/ repair) for a new circuit board (that ribbon cable that is soldered onto the board) after fraying and breaking the ends.
