I've been using shrink for a while now with few problems. But i recently re installed windows 2000 and all of my important prog and shrinks worked fine but then i updated from serv pack 2 to serv pack 4
and i also did most of the security updates. and after that i can rip movie with decryptor in under 10 min then i open the file with shrink and it analysis i=them and as soon as its complete my computer freezes and i have restart and procede with no futher problems.

Did you reinstall the newest version of Nero 6.6 If you did and have Shrink to burn with Nero after reauthoring. The pc will halt. Revert to old Nero 6.6.0.18. Then Shrink will can burn automatically with Nero or uncheck that option in Shrink.

I dont think the problem is Nero after i restart i open the file again and the menu pops up and i click backup and ok then it encodes and burns using Nero with no problems.it always happens as soon as it finishes that first analysis

I have nero 6.6.0.14 But nero has nothing to do with it freezing
It only freezes when i open it the first time as soon as its done
analyzing the file which only takes about 2 min its supposed to load whats on it and let me choose if i want full disc or re author
but the computer freezes and i cant do anything elsebut restart
then i open the file back up and it loads up without analyzing the file
and lets me continue with the encoding and burning with no problems

sounds heat related maybe ?, or Windows 2000. i had far too many issues/blue screens with Windows 2000, way more problems than i had with Windows 95/98 put together over many years of using those

I think it has something to do with the upgrades i did cuz i did close to 500 backups before the ser pack 4 update and security updates. but i dont understand why they would affect shrink ?

it is the upgrade to Nero 6.6.1.4 it freezes with trying to burn with Shrink if that's your version.
