How do I Make the Lapsed Time on the TV Screen Go Away

When I play back a dvd (whether it is programs I recorded myself or a store-bought movie on my Insignia DVD recorder, the lapsed time (i.e. how much time that disc has been playing) appears at the upper left hand corner of the tv screen. I find this very distracting and it just drives me up the wall. Can someone please tell me how to make the "lapsd time" goaway. I checked the user manual and tried every possible set up for the dvd recorder and came up empty.

Find the "display" button on your remote control. Keep pressing it until the display (time, etc.) goes away.
