I don't think my drive is dieing because it is less than 6 months old. I'm going to go get some compressed air and dust the hell out of my comp because that may be the problem. My comp is pretty dusty. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I'm gonna need some help.

You can try rolling back the drivers to the previous version and see if that helps. Another option is to uninstall the drive in your device manager and restart so windows can detect it and reinstall automatically. As a side note, your drive wouldn't be the first to die in 6 months or less.

Ok so I deleted my old primary ide controller and my secondary ide controller in an attempt to update those as well. They won't reinstall on my computer. It gives me an error message that the hardware was not intended for this platform. Even with that I got one disc to burn now it is giving me power calibration errors. Any ideas?

I'm gonna need some help.

@mwkid19
Took a quick look at the log and have some suggestions to try:

Here:
DiskPeripheral : SAMSUNG HD160JJ WU10 viasraid Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : CJ5031O OHD492U 1.0 dtscsi Port 3 ID 0 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : CJ5031O OHD492U 1.0 dtscsi Port 3 ID 1 DMA: Off

These devices have DMA disabled, turn it back on for better performance, here's a guide

http://www.onthegosoft.com/dma_setting_nt.htm

Here:
Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB)
Last address to be written: 2286175 (508:02.25, 4465MB)

Your getting very close the writing to entire file to disk, but the process fails just before it completes.

Have DVDshrink or Nero recode produce smaller file sizes to keep from burning too close to the disks outer edge, try setting to a value of 4300MB. In shrink goto: edit-->preferences, in the preferences tab choose "custom" from the dropdown menu and enter a value of 4300.

Here:
3:11:34 PM #32 Phase 38 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832
Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s)

Instead of 8x, try slowing it down to 4x , doing so might help with this error.."Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)" displayed in the log.

Everything else looks good:
Nero version 6.6.0.18 is ok

Your burner's firmware is upto date at version KS0B

Your using very good media as shown here:
"Recorder: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S, Media type: DVD+R
Disc Manufacturer ID: SONY, Media Type ID: D11, Product revision number: 0"

Plenty of memory and only 44% of it in use

Try the suggestions, if still having problems with burning, then I would consider the possibility that the drive might be defictive.
