From what I remember it is;

I- 1
V- 5
X- 10
?- 50
C- 100
L-1000

Put Qmark next to 50 as I think theres one for it but can't remember and I'm 90% sure that the 1000 one is right.

PS Wheres this thread really going to? LOL

I'm guessing less than 10. But to go back on topic. Do you like older games or newer ones???? There are quite a few new favourite games here.

Old and new games alike, to me a game doesn't really make it into the clasics category with just graphics it has to have very indepth gameplay value, and acition/adventures/RPG have to have a very complex storyline along with a great soundtrack.

For example I would much rather play through Zelda link to the past rather than have to play through the hurrendous Final Fantasy X-2.

Again thats my personal opinion.

Very true. To me older games were better. Current games are fun and great but the RPG genre now seems a bit.......crap. And I'd shoot anyone who enjoyed FFX:2 and thought it was among the best FFs ever.

Those old games are the ones that took the time and made a great storyline with good characters and soundtracks. It just seems that these new games doesn't really make them like they used to.

I also agree. Some games have lost their way. Like the Driver series. They blowed on number 3 but number 2 was a great game. And also some RPG's aren't as great as they use to be. Atari 2600 is one of my most favourite consoles because of how fun the games were.

I feel the same way about FFX. That game was horrible, and yet people claim it to be one of the best games ever.

Id honestly take FFVIII over FFX anyday.

Yeah man. I agree with you. Don't know what's wrong with those people. They even say the voice acting was great but truthfully it sucked very badly. Cartoons have better voice overs that that game.

I'm sure this question might welcome some flaming, but I can take it! What is the gameplay like in Final Fantasy? Yep, I'm a FF n00b!! Is it somewhat like the newest LOTR, where you take turns in the fights?

Just curious because I've never really had a "want" for Final Fantasy, but after 99% of the people in this thread listed it, I'm thinking of trying it.

To tell you the truth I don't really like final fantasy games. But the one that I really liked was final fantasy IV. That game had a hell of a storyline with great characters and a great soundtrack. Now I know that that game didn't really have any graphics and it looked kind of plain but so what. I'd pick a game with a great storyline, characters, soundtrack etc. then some game that has good graphics with an ok storyline any day. I guess these days game developers are so concentrated on making the graphics good that they don't really focus on what really matters

You definately wanna have a go on it even if you don't like it, what have you wasted maybe a days downloading and thats it!

It is like Lord of the Rings (turn based attacks) however it is about 99% better (my personal opinion). The story lines are probably the best in any game, the graphics are extremely good and an average Final Fantasy game will last about 80 hours without doing any sidequests and 140 with doing all the sidequests.

PS I rate Final Fantasy games in this order;
1. Final Fantasy VII 3 discs PS1
2. Final Fantasy VIII 4 discs PS1
3. Final Fantasy VI 1 disc PS1 might wanna avoid this as it will take some understanding to appreciate it if you havn't played any FF before)
4. Final Fantasy X 1 disc PS2
5. Final Fantasy IX 4 discs PS1
6. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Snes
7. All other Final Fantasy I havn't played as there is that many new games to check out ie KH2, DQVIII etc etc

PS Avoid at all costs Final Fantasy X-2 (this is not no. 12, it is the sequel to X). And FFXI you have to pay to play so would also avoid this.

Thanks for the info! Even though I'm not a fan of turn based attacks, I am still gonna give it a shot. I'm leaning towards trying FF X.

Yeah Jamaal10 FFX I think was the best game out of all the FF's in the series. If you're gonna get any game in the FF series make it FFX. Also after trying Driver Parallel Lines I'm thinking that the creators of it just don't care about making their games. They just care about selling it. That game has the worst handling physics ever. DO NOT BUY DRIVER PARALLEL LINES. If you wanna try just rent it.
