Thanks for such a quick reply, Arniebear. I'm a ne wuser from Blantyre (near Glasgow Scotland). Good to hear from you. I'm trying to copy two region 2 DVDS - The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Empire of The Wolves. I am downloading DVDFab and will try this and let you know how I get on. Cheers!

Arniebear, DVDPab seemed to work but folder created (C:\Documents and Settings\User\MyDocuments\DVD\) would not copy from DVD Shrink stating that there was invalid data in this file. I'm at a loss what to do.....any further ideas, please? Thanks

Try the second guide I listed from it is by alkohol one of our members and run the file through VobBlanker and then again try Shrink. VobBlanker is pretty easy to use even if it looks hard. It should clean out any suspect files
Or you can try using reauthor in Shrink and just doing the main movie only and see if this works.
You can also dl 21 day trial version of AnyDVD. AnyDVD is a driver that works in the background and breaks the encryption. You can run it behind Shrink, rip as usual with Shrink and then process.

Arniebear, I can't even get that far. If I try Voblanker (which I've used successfully before), an error message stating "error opening input VOB:D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_21_1.VOB" aqppears 37% into the process log, which has now aborted. Can you, again, help?

If you can't get DVDFab Decrypter and VobBlanker to work, then there is pretty good chance that you have a bad press and you'll have to get another original DVD.

The disks could be bad, so trying another original is a good idea. Also, try ripping again with another burner. I am not in region 2 so cannot say what encryption is on the disk. At this point trying out AnyDVD might work and this program will report what encryption is on the disk and has a built in ripper that works on the same prinicple as FixVTS. Just right click on the red fox in the tray and then tell it to rip.

Are you getting a message in DVD Shrink saying Invalid data in file VTS_????.VOB or something like that, after ripping with DVD Fab Decrypter. If so it is a problem i have had before and you can get round it quite easily using IFO Edit. I have the link saved with instructions on a different computer. If that is your prblem let me know and i will post the link later

Hi, Rafigold, no I still haven't fixed the problem yet. I've downloaded FixVTS and hope to try this tomorrow. Fingers crossed it would be great if this sorts my problem. Will let you know. Regards

HI, Rafigold, I STILL haven't sorted my problem. I have tried different copies of Region 2 discs "Empire of the Wolves" and "Exorcism of Emily Rose" however, I am getting still getting the same error message when I try DVD Shrink. To be honest I've tried to use FixVTS but I am totally at a loss as to what I should be doing. Am I creating a file in C Drive and then trying to burn this to DVD? What I really need is an idiot's step by step guide as to what I do from the moment I put the disc into the drive. Can someone please supply this??
Thanks in anticipation.....

sorry if i was not clear. I did not use FixVTS to solve the problem. I used IFOEdit, which is in solution 2 in that link i posted earlier.
Here are the instructions in a nutshell. Download install and run IFOEdit. Click Open and browse to where the file has been ripped by DVDFAB Decrypter. Select the file VTS_???.IFO correspondig to the VOB file that Shrink had problems with.
Click VOB extras amke sure that only "Correct Original IFO files" is selected. Click OK and when it is done click save
Click open and select VIDO_TS.IFO. Click Get VTS Sectors and click Yes to process all files.
That is it. If you have problems with another VOB file in Shrink just repeat the above with the next IFO file.
Good luck

Rafogold, I'm not having much luck with this I'm afraid. I did as you said (as far as I am aware) but when I then try to use DVD Shrink and open file from C drive, I get a message stating - "invalid data in file C:\DVD\VDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB"

not sure i am able to help you much more then. that is what i used to get round my problems which were the same as yours. i do not understand what all of that actually does so cannot really provide any useful tips apart from what i have already said. did you look at the instructions on the earlier link cos it has pictures as well which may make it clearer if you missed anything out.

Snowy 6, thanks for that post. Glad to know it's not just me and, to be honest, you have explained the problem far better than I have been able to do. Hope those guys out there can help us both.
