We need to know a lot more starting with what kind of burner you're using and what kind of media you use, speed you're burning, what you're trying to burn and so on.

amandasue ,
Welcome to the forum. You really need to delete Interactual Player from your computer as it can cause problems w/ the trancoding of the DVD.

What blank media are you trying to use to copy the movie to?

What is the speed you are burning at?

Below is a guide that uses all free programs and does a good job w/ about 90% of the movies. Try it:
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup%20with%20DVDFABDecrypter,S...

Here is another guide that you use to do the other 10% of the movies that the first guide can not do:

http://www.k-probe.com/backup-newly-release-DVD-DVDFAB-Decrypter-...

In the guide above you can substitute Shrink for Recode.

Also use good quality blank media like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony( made in Japan), Maxell or Fuji-(made in Japan)

Do you mean what type of DVD disk? DVD -R.

I think I am getting the hang of it. I have said this, but I have DVD Shrink and it works great but I guess when it backs it up, it doesnt burn it? How do I get it to burn it? What program?

Look at the guides I posted and read the guide and then do the rip , compression and the burn exactly like the guides say to do it. It is free software

How much free space do you have on your HD. You need at least 12-14 gb to do a movie

If you are using WindowsXP go to My Computer, if the drive space isn't listed you can just let your mouse hover over the drive in question and it will tell you it's capacity.

Go to Start> My Computer> C;Drive. As you put the cursor over the c;drive it will tell you how much free space you have

You might as well break down and get more harddrive. They are resonabile now and a external will work fine without a lot of hassle. If you're gonna do dvds you're going yo need at least a min of 20 gig and more will help.

moss2k,
You need to convert your drive over to NTFS from Fat 32.

Guide below: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/co...

The blank media is crap except for the Fuji. Slow the write down to 4X. There is a problem w/ the lead-in so the .iso could be corruptted

the type of file system is FAT32.
Convert cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Convert may run if this volume is dismounted first. ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID. Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N)

what do i do now?

also, prior to using this method, i used dvdxcopy and had no issues with burning, until i started using the DVD-R by fujifilm. Since then, i've tried numberous methods listed here at afterdawn.com. I followed the guides, yet all failed. (tried using various burn speeds as well)

Using fat 32 you are limited to the size of the files. This causes problems w/ some systems. Re-Boot the computer and then convert . If the message comes up go w/ Yes
