I am trying to make several copies of Dylan Avery's documentary "Loose Change 2nd Edition". I tried using the simulate option in Nero but I got this error log after 37%.

I guess this DVD can't be copied? Maybe there is another program that can? A couple of other quick questions. I have noticed that Verbatim media is very popular in this forum. I bought some over a year ago when my store first started carrying the 16X and here is the data that I got from DVD Identifier. Manufacturer Name is "Mitsubishi Chemical Corp" and Media Type ID is "004". Are these any good? How can I tell in the future if they are? How can I tell what batch the DVDs are before I buy? Is there any indication on the packaging? Last thing. I am trying to run the performance test in Nero and I only get results under Benchmark and not Disc Quality. Can someone give me a quick run through. Thanks for your time.

Looks like your source disc- Loose Change - has some read errors on it. Try cleaning it off. I'm guessing there's no copy protection on it or you have anydvd running in the backgound to remove it. A better ripper to try is dvd decrypter - try ripping with that then burn the files with nero. You can find it here: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/DVD_Decrypter/1011845169/1
You're also missing part of the log that shows your drives, mode there in, memory using etc. So you might want to post that part also. You may need a firmware update that will help your drive with the 16x media.
MCC owns Verbatim and is very good so you should be fine - What speed you should burn these at though depends on what your drive supports and if the firmware is up to date.
For disc quality look for made in Japan Sony, Fuji which are usually Taiyo Yuden another great brand besides Verbatim.

You are either using bad media, or you need a firmware update. Also, what is your burn speed? In my opinion, any higher than 4x is begging for a coaster.

Illusenia has some good advice about media. Have a feeling you are not the typical "Newbie." :-)

Hello.

I would like to help you but i'll need the full log... Could you post it for us? Just delete the serial at the top. Nero ver6 starts with 1A*** and ver7 should start with 5C****...

Also, what are you burning exactly? AVI's, DVD files...

If it ain't broken it doesn't need fixing...
