if it's cheaply priced, theres a reason... buy only from rima or SMS. circuit city, compusa, best buy, walmart....they all sell fake counterfeit media - not worth the risk, if they sell SOME fake is it worth buying from someone who knowingly sells counterfeit crap? why support them even if they have a good deal on real media? yeah ive been burned by fake taiyo yuden's... got those from newegg... avoid them too, unless someone says "guaranteed genuine, if found to be fake you can blow up our storefront without consequence" don't buy...

I use Meritline and Rima for genuine Taiyo-Yuden media, up to now I've never gotten burned with counterfeit media, knock on wood.. I'm surprised at Newegg selling counterfeit Taiyo-Yuden, that sucks man. Sorry you got burned!!

I've never had any problems w/ New*gg before.
Now I get my Verbatims from SMS, because they have better prices.
Also better selection.
Good Luck w/ the rest of your purchases.

the TY from newegg burned fine for about 20 discs then got power calibration errors every other disc, the ones that did burn played pixelated toward the middle to end of the movie, or froze... holding the discs to the light showed areas of the dye that appeared missing...like black areas the size of the tip of a pin....very small... had a leopard spot look to the dye.... was just ranting, forget the egg.

That is very suprising about newegg. I'm a verbatim man. Every batch I've bought are top quality mcc's. Never have to worry about fakes.
