I have somemore questions concerning media.

Are there different quality Sony media out there?? IS there anything I should be looking for? Meaning, is there any cheap sony's.. The ones I got seem nice.. they identify as Sony as well.

As far as DVD + R or DVD - R, whith the different formats are they branded different, meaning the identifier. Say I got some Maxells that were -R would they have a different identifier than +R ??

As for maxell, should I be looking for ones made in a certain country? The taiwan ones are no good. What should I look for?

Yes there are. If you buy Sony made in taiwan they will code out as
Sony. Still pretty good media in my opionon. If you get the made in Japan Sony's then they will code out as Taiyo Yudens. I prefer the Made in Japans..

Note: A good rule of thumb when purchasing your media in the store is to look for ?made in Japan or Singapore? stay away from ?made in Taiwan or Hong Kong? When buying online always try and get ?Branded? media this way you can be sure you are getting the genuine article. There is an exception to that rule and it would be Taiyo Yuden disks. You just need to buy from a reputable dealer when buying online. Here are a few I have bought from with good experience. Of course it isn?t going to be the same for everyone.

MID codes for DVD+R will always be different from codes for DVD-R even if the manufacturer is the same. Even discs of the same format, same speed, and same manufacturer will have different codes if they dyes are different and require different power settings.
