From your log, I see three things that should be changed.

1)I 15:57:56 Source File Size: 4,681,428,992 bytes

This file size is too big, set DVDshrink to create files sizes of 4300MB. Run shrink and goto:edit--->preferences, in the preferences tab choose custom from the dropdown menu and enter a value of 4300.

2)I 15:57:56 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: MCC 03RG20) (Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x)

MMC disks are lousy in quality, try using a different brand like sony DVD+Rs or verbatim disks.

3)I 15:57:56 Write Speed: MAX

Your write speed is set to MAX (not good), change it 4x.
You can change this when backing up with shrink, in the last tab (burn/burning options) set the write speed there for 4x.

Edit: You should also have DVD decrypter check to see if your burner's firmware needs to be updated.

WunderKid ,
I'll differ w/ Johnl123 on #1
1. MCC 03RG20- is the mid code for Verbatim so the disks are OK

2. Is DMA enabled
3. Check Firmware to see if there is a update. Go to the site below . Firmware up to UYS2
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=14&manufactor=30

Problem is that firmware was written in July 2005 so it still might not recog the Verb's

Run DVD decrypter and goto: Tools--->Drive--->Check for firmware updates.

You need to be connected to internet in order for it to work. The program searches 'The Firmware page' and shows you available firmware updates for your selected device.

If you want to read all about DVD decrypter's settings, just click on the link:

Edit: you're right those MMC's are verbs, my mistake I guess I was thinking Maxell instead.

WunderKid ,
Then I have to say your burner just does not like 16X Verbatim blank media. See if you can find 8X or even 4X blank media as that burner is a little old and maybe the Mid code on the Verbatim's are not recog.

You haven't stated what changes you've made, if any.

Did you try:

1)Set DVDshrink to create files sizes of 4300MB. Run shrink and goto:edit--->preferences, in the preferences tab choose custom from the dropdown menu and enter a value of 4300.

2)Your write speed is set to MAX (not good), change it 4x.
You can change this when backing up with shrink, in the last tab (burn/burning options) set the write speed there for 4x.

Try it again when these changes have been made, sometimes burning at a slower speed and not writing too close to the disk's out edge will do the trick.

In addition to getting new firmware. I am going to try and get 8x DVD-R
discs. Are there any other FREE LIFETIME DVD BURNERS just as good as DVD Decrypter?

Try this one..

http://www.imgburn.com/

EDIT: Instead of DVD-Rs, go with sony DVD+Rs (very good quality media made in Japan).
