After hours of searching and modifying, I finally solved the DNS error on my PSP1001. The Sony PSP does NOT recognize the WEP on the router. You must go into the router and change from WEP to WPA personal, generate your own personal key, save it, and then redo the PSP setup including entering the new WPA personal key. This worked perfect for my PSP and I hope it works for you.
I've gotten the same problem. But what I did was open up Command prompt and wrote in ipconfig /all
Then on my PSP wireless edited it and it said Address settings choose Custom. Choose Manual for IP Address Setting and then copy out everything in the command prompt which you wrote in ipconfig /all, BUT change the IP Address last number to 1 higher number. eg, if your command prompt said 192.16.0.9 write in your psp 192.16.0.10 .
After that you should now be able to go into the internet. As it worked for me! =D

Do you know how dangerous it is to post your IP Setting on the Internet? Lol. You can now easily become hacked with all the information you gave, easily, because of all the data you gave. So try not to give it all out.
Ok, go to your PSP wireless settings and select new connection, or if you already have you wireless point there saved, press TRIANGLE and choose edit. Now click on enter manually and enter in all the security and password if you have one, then on Address settings click on Custom, Manual for IP Address Setting, copy as below.
Please enter the following forms as I have.
IP Address: 86.29.202.121
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Default Router: 86.29.202.120
Primary DNS: 194.168.4.100
Secondary DNS: 194.168.8.100
