ok so i am new to using dvd shrink...i have Nero but it wont burn some of the movies because it says they are too big for the cd. Even though some of hte movies are 4.3 GB and the dvd i have in is 4.7 GB so it should fit but it says it wont. ANYWAYS as for dvd shrink i go to open file and when i choose the movie i want to shrink it says it cannot find the file yet i go find it myself and it works fine and everything...... so if someone could help me out with my problems that would be great!

I have same problem in that I can copy movie files to a HD folder but the DVD Shrink program is unable to find the file and shows it as empty when directed to the right folder. Any thoughts? Thanks.

If you' re opening a directory xontaining a movie with DVD Shrink, this directory has to incluse all files in the appropriate format (*.IFO, *.VOB and *.BUP files) other wise DVD Shrink is not able to shrink or not (according to the final size) if the sum of theese files exceeds the capacity of the DVD itself. Also when inted to rip the movie on the Hard Disc you always have to choose "File Mode" on your ripper. Iso images cannot be shrinked with DVD Shrink. Last but not least the files must be freed from any protection after or during the ripping 'cause DVD Shrink does not care those things. Hope to help.

This is incorrect, Shrink will recognize, open, and transcode ISO images. All you have to to is run shrink and goto: file--->open disk image, then browse to where the image is located on your HDD and select it, at this point you can proceed as usual.

@das555
Keep DVD decrypter in ISO read mode, once it's done ripping the DVD files to your hard drive in an ISO image format (.iso), run shrink and open the image as I described above.

I cannot figure out how I can reauthor the compilation (isolate the parts that I' m going to use) if the ripped file is ISO mode. Also ISO images are not giving you any estimation about the contents of the original compilation except the overal size. So if you want to make 1:1 copy with compression you do not need DVD Decrypter (or a newer ripper). You may go on with AnyDVD and DVDShrink at the same time. But in this case if you have to deal with some newest encryptions your result will be everything but the desired one. General advise: Use "File Mode" if you want to administrate your compilations. Also I would suggest not burn directly the derived compilation (shrinked or discarging unwanted items) with DVD Shrink assuring that the final output is the one what you' ve planned. If using DVD Shrink choose "Create Audio and Video Folders" and if you please you may continue with your favorite burner.
