hi i want to erase a dvd thats re writable ive tried in dvd decrypter but that did not work and ive tried in nero start smart and it keeps saying my disk is not rewritable, so how do you erase rewritable dvds? i have maxell dvd plus r 8x 4.7gb

i think that all you got to do is choose to write existing data over it. I don't think that you are able to actually "erase" it. You just have to write over it with your new data. If I am wrong than sorry, but i think that is it.

What you need is dvd +rw. Plus r is write once,just like dash r.

8x +rw media is very hard to find.

R= recordable
RW= Rewriteable
