Hello, I have bought a 2 gig memory stick off ebay just now. Do you think it's fake, the buyer assured me it was real and its on its way now.
Here is the link-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-2GB-High-Speed-Memory-Stick-PRO-DUO-AD...
He says its the highes quality, and said there were 4 different qualitys and the one he sells is 1.956 gig.
Thanks in Future..

It doesn't really matter, you'll find out that it's fake but there is almost no difference, I had a fake one for a little over 4 months now and I haven't had a single problem. But yeah that is 100% fake.
Steps to bricking a PSP:
1. Get a brick
2. Hit the psp with it untill it won't run any longer
Congratulations, your psp is now bricked.

you guys are incorrect, not all fakes work the same.. there are plenty of people who buy fakes and they break down...
so you'd be misguiding him by telling him there is no difference
funny thing is they say that if the logo is a sticker its fake and if its branded its real,
mines is stickered and has been working for a while now but idk

Fakes are easy, sometimes there a tight fit also, if you buy the stick and it works, your set but if it is fake, after about te 3000th time you write on your mmc, it will start to have faults, that is the difference between a real and fake.
EDIT - and I won the auction for 31.50 (excluding the postage + packaging £4.99 and the postal insurance £4)

The differences depend on the card. There's a chance that the card will work for 10 writes... and then cap at a gig, and can only transfer 100 meg files... or it could not work at all. Or you it could cap at a gig right away (but with a gig capacity)... or it could work not all, or perfectly... good luck.

the only way to tell, it to actually use it. doesnt matter if its fake or not, as long as you will be able to use it and for however long it will last. youve bought it, and sorta stuck with it. might as well use it, cauz u can tell DEFINATELY if its a fake or not.
well, thats my theory. as long as it does its job, it doesnt matter.

well for me its as long as it does the job and it keeps doin it.. cause if the memory stick only does the job for like a week then you're screwed.
we really don't have a definite way of telling which one is fake or not just by looking at it.
and no 3dluis if a card is fake it usually breaks down way before 3000 i don't kno that your whole stickerised theory is true. its not concrete.

For most people, it's:
"Where there is an up, there is a down. You pay for what you get."
Then there's the lucky people, then it's:
"Where there is an up, there is another up. Damn you, lucky bastard >_< "
in this circumstance: lets test ur luck :P

I won the very next auction only minutes later for £33 :) Received it today and it seems to work fine. I have a 2.5 so I use the PSP mainly for music and movies so obviously needed the larger card. Hopefully it lasts!! Would love to find this guys supplier in Hong Kong and start my own little fake memory stick business. This guy is making £50 every 10 minutes or so. Might google it and see!!!

There is a difference between getting a fake and a genuine MS, even if they both work for a good amount of time. If you own a real MS, and it happens to break, you can call in the warrenty (which is five years with Sandisk). If your fake breaks, well, someone said it above, you get what you paid for. You cannot expect to buy something that retails for a 150 for 40 and expect quality (unless its stolen)
