First I have 2 questions #1 I have a JVC VHS and DVD recorder combo been converting VHS to DVD for awhile, went out and bought more blank DVD's Sony DVD+R and all of these dvd when put in recorder comes back Disc error?? #2 what is the differance between DVD+R and DVD-R?? Thanks

I'm only a step above newbie so take this with a grain of salt. It is my understanding that the +R version is a newer format and not all stand alone players will recognize it. My only stand alone is a 25" tv with a dvd player and a vhs player built-in. Think it is about a year old, and it will play -R & +R just fine.

Q1) Did you first use sony dash media?
You've got a tv stand alone burner. Majority of them are single format only.

Q2) Hell of a difference if you have a single format tv recorder and using the plus format when specs calls for dash.It's all compatability. Not all drives are capable of dual format.

What is the actual model# of that recorder?
