Ok, I am new at this whole process. But I am making a highlight video for my brothers football year. I recorded all the games on my DV-camcorder. But I wanted to get a different veiw so I am going to use all the schools copies of the filmed games. Well they are all on VHS and right now the easiest way is to just copy the games to DVD becuase we have a friend who will do it for us. The question is how do I put the DVD on my computer to edit? I have read alot of different things and thought I would get a little more input. Also while doing this which video editing software would you recomend. I'm not doing anything real fancy so I dont need any professional software.

Since you will have everything in DVD format, all you need to do is create a working folder and record the files to it from the DVDs. DVDRemake is a fairly simple editing tool for DVD movies, I'm not sure how it will work for you. You can check it out at http://www.dimadsoft.com . InterVideo has some editing software you may want to check out and they have a trail period for you to try the apps before buying. http://www.intervideo.com/

Since I am a Nero Freak, I have to also mention Nero Vision 4.

It is fairly simple, and I believe it has a football template! (Football menus and such)

Nero also has a free 30 day trial if you do not already have Nero 7.

Hi

I mostly use Nero Vision (as mentioned above) - it is quite good but at times quite frustrating - but check out Mpeg video wizard

http://www.womble.com

Again you get a 30 day trial period - and it is a full version trial not the "you can record 10% only" type of trial.
