I recently upgraded by Nero 6 OEM to Nero 7 7.0.8.2 Ultra Edition. It says on the Nero website that Nero 7 supports ogg files (along with a host of other audio files). After installing I ran Nero Scout (which indexes the folders I tell it to for any media files). Scout runs just fine for me (although others have had problems), except for one thing - it only indexes my mp3 files. I have over 3,500 songs in the ogg format but Nero Scout does not index them. The problem here is that if Scout does not index them, they are not presented for playback in Nero Home (the home multimedia applications for Nero 7). This means that I have 3,500 songs and over 100 vidoes in ogg that are unavailible for use.

I emailed tech support and they replied saying that they do not natively support those formats, but rely on their plugin manager and audio plugins to add the needed file type support. So I went to the site they suggested to download the files (http://www.geocities.com/mausau) and got the files I wanted. I placed them in the directory that was specified on that website, but still no ogg support in Nero Home or Nero Scout. However, I can burn Audio CD's from ogg files and the files play in the integrated player for Nero Burning ROM. I do not have a resolution to this issue yet, but I am working on it. Does anyone else have this problem - or have a resolution?
