ok i just got my dvd burner and am looking to copy a dvd movie to a dvd-r. i have win98 os. how do i go about doing this? any help is greatly needed. thanks for your time.

OK, first thing. Keep reading these forums. I've been burning for just over a week and reading these posts has helped me a lot.

Anyways, my steps are:
Rip with DVDdecrypter
Compress with DVD2one
Burn with Stomp RecordNow (many people use Nero for this last step)

But keep reading!

You might find that you have a 4Gb limitation under Win98..?

I second what ken0042 said. I'm using win98se and have had excellent results with DVDDecrypter/DVD2one/Nero. Have now backed up 6 titles with no problems. The 4Gb file size limitation does not come into play using this technique because in DVDDecrypter (or maybe its DVD2one) you can set the file split size at 1Gb maximum.
