heraldo2 ,
Welcome to the forum. The 1st thing I would do is convert the HD to NTFS from Fat32. Go to the site below and follow the directions:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/co...

Then you need to set the region code for the burner. It should have been set automatically but it did not

After that run the log again and re-post. If this is the newer encryptions then DVDD will not do them. Use DVDFAB Decrypter ( free) and rip the movie to HD and then process accordingly

The thing is I have been backing up DVD's all this time with Fat32. Will converting to NTFS really have an effect on the copy process.

That depends somewhat on the software you're using. Older apps such as DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink were written with FAT32 in mind. With newer copyright protections being used on some of the later releases, you're going to need more up to date decryption software than DVD Decrypter. I use AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter. Slysoft recommends turning off CSS cracking and Check for Structure Protection, and turn on SPTI. That's mostly to prevent wrong and unnecessary warnings from DVD Decrypter. AnyDVD runs in the background and takes care of Region Codes and copyright protection. So, as long as the little red fox is on the taskbar, it's working.

If you have problems with that combination getting a rip, then I suspect the problem isn't with the software itself. You can pick up a 3 week full function trial of AnyDVD at http://www.slysoft.com/

Car.Mike was right on DVDFabDecrypter if you want free, but for ease of operation and having software with a record for being the first with updates, I stick with AnyDVD.

That is the combo I have been using,DVD Decypter,Shrink and AnyDVD but for some unknown reason I have been having problems backing-up old and new movies. Since my last posting I have installed a DVD-ROM. Now I don't have the ripping problem, just the burn process. I can't even burn with Imgburn. Is ther any other way to test the funtionality of the burner to make sure it is reading properly. Because before I installed the DVD-ROM I cound not get it to rip.

Sounds like you answered your own question with the ROM installation. The drive appears to be heading south. Before writing it off, try cleaning the head. Maybe some hardware gurus will have other options for you. None come to mind that a person could do without proper testing software or equipment. The easy test is slipping in a known good burner if you have an extra or can get your hands on one before buying.
