I purchased this product more than 2 months ago and to date am still unable to install it. Time and time again I have uninstalled Ver 6 and used all the clean tools etc and tried to install Ver 7.

Every time I am met with an unable to create temp folder message under Win XP SP2 when running the installer - possibly the worst written install routine I've ever come across. It's even easier o install pakages in linux!

I have traded messages back and forth with both the customer service and so called technical support team and still they have not delivered a working productnor a solution to this problem. They now won't even give an answer as to why they don't put out seperate pachages as they did with version 6. Tech support simply does not exist.

They also refuse to refund me the money they 'stole' from me saying they're covered by GERMAN law - simply the best piece of customer relations I've ever encountered.

Does anyone on this forum know of any organisation who have suffered similar mistreatment and been ripped off blindly by these folk? I am particularly interested in anyone taking legal action for non-merchatable product under european or international law. I think it's beyond a joke when software vendors and the like can get away with scams like this and cover thmselves by touting some statute or other - the point remains I still have neither a working version of Nero 7 nor a refund and naff all by way of reply or solution

Nero 6 was great- 7 is another story entirely!

Just wanted to add that I have done the clean/install routine about 20 times to date - each time the process takes around an hour. I have used clean tool/clean pack/Ner0-CleanTool/NVE CleanTool and INCD Clean tool along the way- yep it cleans the registry out alright so that's not where the problem lies. without doind this the installer would not run at all.

The problem is that when the installer tried to extract the cabinet files it looks to create a temp folder to unpack the install packages to but cannot saying that the folder is write proected. Logged on as an administrator I have removed the write protection check box and it makes not a jot of difference.

I have read of exactly the same problem in several threads here a few months back and even tried manually unpacking the cabinets- and still run into problems. I have not got 2 weeks or more to spare trying this again - nor should I have to do this. And reformatting the HD is completely out of the question, especially when this is the only application suite I've had trouble within the past 2 years! Even win 98 prorams install without a hitch.

Are you by chance installing Nero 7 from a Disk? I have heard of others having a problem installing the original version of Nero 7. Have you tried downloading the latest version 7.0.8.2 directly off of their site and using your Serial Number to activate it? It may be worth a shot. It says Demo on the download, but it is full retail version once you put your serial number in.

I've had this same problem. Bought the serial number from the Nero website. I have tried to install the last 3 versions that were released, and none will install. They all the just hang durig the install.. I've done the whole Cleantool routine with all the versions.. Manually deleting all the hundreds Nero/Ahead registry entries that get left behind each time.. Everything. Tech support from Nero has been no help in my case either. Replies to each email I send them to take 3-10 days to arrive.. I've all but given up.

I've also paid for a product that I can't use.. I'm very unhappy about it.

Fireman - I 've tried it every which way but loose. 3 downloads (2 of them different versions) and an update disc Nero sent me in the mail. Nothing! - I repeat, "Nothing related to Version 7 installs!.
