- Rubbish! I't will not install, Their Tech support is diabolical and they refuse to give refunds. Futhermore from what I can see, many ofthose who have managed to install it are having burning rom problems and lots more besides

- Surely grounds for a lawsuit. Ver 6 still remains a better product in very way (including in my case, the ability to install it!)

Nero 7 Premium (Online Shop)
Quote:Be impressed by the possibilities of Nero 7 Premium.
Nero 7 Premium now offers both the PC and TV media management experience for a complete solution.
- I'm anything but. One of the poorest install packages I've ever witnessed
why not just ask for help like every one else does and people will try to assist you........otherwise every one looking at this post will think god what a whiner or WTF
To answer your question - been there, done that and as expressed on my other thread I stuck very close to this very problem here on afterdawn a few monts back. Yes this issue has been raised before and no still do not have a solution.
The difference being that I actually do appreciate the constructive advice given on forums (in general) and more so a SOLUTION. In this thread I merely point out that to a number of us Nero 7 had failed to deliver - and miserably at that. What customer support and technical support that does exist is a complete waste of time - and that the claims they post on their website are rubbish.
Put yourself in my shoes and those here that have exactly the same problem that 3 months down the line they still cannot install the product and Nero refuse to refund the money. That buddy, is called theft!
Whining or not I'm stating fact here and there are 2 sides to the Nero 7 coin and each side should be visible. From what I see now after the fact is that many (including DivX are recommending Easy Media Creator 8)- If I could get the mony back that Nero stole from me I'd gladly swap back and not have to bother with this particular topic at all. What use is a product if it cannot be installed?
you also stated that Nero 6 was a better version so why fix some thing thats not broke.I have Nero 7 but not installed.Still running 6.6.0.18, does everything i require of it.
Maybe so I should have posted in the same thread, however a fresh thread seems more pertinent in this case as I am referring to the claims made on their website here more so that my inability to install the product despite their so called tech support and the generally helpful advice given here - My reason for upgrading (as is often the case) the promise of support for new technologies and perhaps seemless integration of applications. This clearly seems not to be the case with Nero 7 from what I have read on the forum in general.
Like I said if they (Nero) would give back the money they hae stolen from me for this version I would gladly make do with version 6 for now or spend it on the highly recommended Easy Media Creator Ver 8. (Admittedly ver 7 of that was a beast too - eating up huuge chunks of memory!)
- Once again there are 2 sides to this coin and anyone who has been going through the same horror as I in trying to install this product would most likely agree that the claims maid on their website are indeed utter rubbish!
Why do thy not just release version 6 in seperate bundles as they did with version 6 and use the same install routines - you know, something that WORKS! At least then I might be able to at least install the product that I paid honest money for and bitch about he burning engine and other problems instead.....
Incidentally the tech support given on this forum is 1000 times better than that meted out y Nero - No wonder the German Economy is in such a bad way right now!
No wonder Piracy is rife - maybe it's the ONLY option from here on. If companies are getting away with stealing from honest folk like me then a pat on the back goes from me to the pirates! Long may it last!
I stand over everything i have said here but finally have found the solution finally by revisiting an old thread.
Have posted the solution and a thank You to Willo who unravelled the mystery - Amazingly Nero never thought to mention that you cannot install to a compressed folder in NTFS!
no need to start multiple threads, no matter how frustrating the problem is. if you are not getting a response and fear the thread will get shuffled on down the line, just post in it again with "bump" or whatever, and the thread moves back to the top and someone will get to it.
since a solution was found, time to close this one.
