Theres 2 different connections, INFRASTRUCTURE and ADHOC. Both use Wifi to work.
Infrastrucuture will allow you to browse the web, join massively multiplayer games, email.
ADHOC will allow you to connect PSP- PSP with sumeone close by maybe ur neighbour. Playing 2 player games, sharing levels, transfer pictures or files etc.
