Have downloaded all the english lanuage help files for Nero 7 and renamed and replaced most of them in the appropriate apps folders but am left with one or two issues....

First off I have a help file for BurningRom - This does not seem to e installed. Anyone???

Likewise I have Nero7UltraEdition_qs_enu.chm and no folder (apparently) in which to replace it

Then I am left with a bit of a problem: I have one folder called Nero Vision.I have renamed the file to NeroVisionExpress_eng.chm and replaced the existing help file.....

I am left with a help file called NeroExpress_ug_eng.chm which I need to rename and drp into the appropriate folder, but where is it? Certainly an app called NeroExpress appears in the StartSmart Menu Panel but I have no folder in the Nero 7 programs folder with that name.... It would appear that there are 2 help files one called vision and one called express which oth need to go into the Vision Folder. If thats the case how do I access each. F1 only brings up the default Nero Vision help file....

All in all utterly confusing and alarming in the case of no visible burnin rom installation.

Would appreciate if anyone can shed some light on these faux pad.....

Thanks in advance

Update: Found the location for two of the help files, notably the BurningRom and NeroExpress by doing a system search for *.chm files in the Nero Program Folder >> Location for these two is the Core folder.

This still begs the question as to whether NeroVision as downloaded is one and the same as NeroVisionExpress_en.chm as appears in the installer and as to where the Nero7UltraEdition_eng.chm file goes.

It's yet another inconsistency that you download the help files for the PREMIUM Edition and get a file named 'UltraEdition'- whichever it is am confunded as to where it should be installed.

Futher to last post: re. the NeroVision problem this appears to be the case: there seems to be nowhere to install the Nero7UltraEition_eng.chm help file

Here's what you do if you want to install them though:

To install Nero 7 Help Fileson Premium Edition:

1) Download the .chm version of the help files from: http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/User_Guides.html and save them to a Temp folder you create on your desktop.
2) Browse to the application folder: Typically C:\Program_Files\Nero\Nero_7
3) Open this folder by clicking or double clicking on it
4) Refer to the Temp Download folder you created and open the corresponding folder in the Program Directory
5) Rename the downloaded .chm to that as appears in your Program directory
6) Copy (or cut) and paste the renamed file into its corresponding directory in Programs

That's really all there is to it!

Notes: At 24/03/06 you should be left with:

Nero7UltraEdition_qs_enu.chm
NeroVision_ug_eng.chm
NeroBurningRom_ug_eng.chm
NeroExpress_ug_eng.chm

- There seemingly is nowhere to install the UltraEdition .chm file
- The BurningRom and Express Files go into the core directory
- The Vision one goes into the Nero Vision Folder and you rename it NeroVisionExpress_ENG.chm

This guide applies to English Language Help Files but I assume you only need to change the _eng part of the name structure to whatever language you are downloading

Solution 2 - The Painless method

Download the Help files in .exe fashion - yes Nero have 2 versions of the help files (amazingly they are different file sizes too)

ftp://ftp6.Nero.com/user_guides/nero7/Nero7_chm_eng.exe

Then simply click or double-click the downloaded .exe and hey presto it does all the work for ya!

handcuffed to the infamous Captain Nero and drowning someplace on the ocean floor
