whats the warrantys they give us on our PS2?...

The reason im asking is because if its only a 1 year warranty then iv'e had my console longer then that so my warranty would be out anyways.Heres way im asking...

I was going to go with the Swapmagic & slider to play my Backup games because i did not want to break my warranty seal.But if my warranty Is out then im thinking i want to go with the No~Solder which would be easyer to switch out the disc(One Time Install chip}.I don't like the fact that you have to pull out the tray forsefully all the time with the Slider.

It says all i have to do is plug the no~solder chip in once & thats it.then all i have to do is use the reg eject button(Instead of pulling out the tray) to swap my backup games with the swapmagic disc.Thats much better to me.wouldin't you agree also?

So tell me.Is my warranty out sence iv'e had this console for over 1 year?...If so,then im breaking the seal sence its no good intact anyways & going with the No~Solder Chip.But if the warranty is steal under warranty then i want to go with the Slider so i keep the warranty intact & good.Is this a good plan to any of you?..give me advice.
{NO~SOLDER CHIP} {SLIDER}-->

{No~Solder $39.00} {$Slider 26.00}-->

The standard warranty is 1 year, so you don't have to figure that in with your decision.

basically a mod chip is definitely better because it is no-swap. Imagine doing a swap everytime you want to change a game! gosh i cant live with that.

since the warranty is over, all the more it is justifiable to go with a mod chip. however i recommend having it installed by a real pro. the no-solder chips are generally easier to have loose connections resulting in failed installation.

hope this helps.

Hi
The main problem with swap magic is some games need patched to work with it, the chip is more expensive but a lot less hassle.

The ony problem with breaking the warranty seal is that if you ever get the dreaded "Disc Read Error", $ony will not repair it for free. I have the first PS2 released, and the laser went bad about a year ago.(Which means its about 4 years old at least) I called $ony and they fixed it for free because my sticker was still intact, and it is a known problem with the PS2.
Just keep this in mind also. I went with the MC Exploit, and an HD. Works great, even though some games are not compatible.

Jusy my $.02.

The Disk Read Error is easy enough to fix on your own,so thats not really a big deal.
