I have three DVD players in my home:

DVD_Player_A - JVC XV-N410B, 8 months old

DVD_Player_B - JVC XV-521GD 5 years old

DVD_Player_C - Toshiba SD-4960, 4 years old

DVD players B & C play any and all DVD's +R and -R's just fine. Lately tho ann I user are Fuji 8x, DVD-R's(I got a real good deal on a 2, 100 disc spindles).

Anyway when playing the EXACT same discs in DVD player A, the video and audio is choppy at best. Original DVD's all play just fine in DVD_Player_A and the other DVD's

I don't know what is causing this.

I have even updated the firmware on my DVD_Player_A and had it in the shop for warranty repair. I made up some bogus story to get them to cover it.

Can anyone help me out?

It is probably having trouble reading the Fuji disc due to low quility of media. I have 3 DVDs 1 plays any back-up DVD I throw at it (using cheap media). The other 2 are VHS/DVD combo's and have trouble playing some of the DVD media (using cheap media) that I so called got a real good deal on.

My findings on the real good deal. Dont buy it. The deal is to good to be true.

The fix was buying TY's(TYO2) which I got 200 of them for $60. It had free ground shiping with them and took 4 days to get to me.

This is a good deal considering you can get a 100 pack of cheap media at wal-mart for $25. So the Extra $10 was well worth it when I have 100% working DVD's an all DVD players now with the TY's.

So I would suggest on buying good quilty media and you shouldnt have trouble with all DVD's playing the backups.

I got a big batch of Fuji 8X +R and they turned out to be TY media. Good stuff. So, not all Fuji is cheap. In +R, Sony also sells TY when it's the MIJ version of the product. (The MIT +R Sony is good as well, it's the Sony generic.)

It does sound like the problem may be media related. Simply try a disc that has worked for you in the past. If it's the media, complain to the vendor that sold it to you.
