@ripper

It could also be the "ground Hog Day thread again". The "Deja Vu all over again" is original with Yogi Berra, New York Yankee Player and Manager. He had a lot of them. They are Berraisms. Correct me if I'm wrong gerry. I'm brain dead at present and can't think of any others. But this site has some great ones:

LMAO! I never read those before; I love that stuff! While only marginally related, it reminds me of my mom. When I was a kid, we had an old gas stove and you had to strike a match to light the burner. I struct a match, lit the burner put the match out under the faucet running in the sink and threw the match out when my mother yelled, "Be careful; you're going to burn the house down" when I replied, "I put the match out under the water". She replied "Yeah, but it was hot water!" I remember looking at my dad who had this pleading "Just drop it" look in his eyes. (My mom usually wasn't such a flake LOL!)

good night, something to think about what the site should be like, but!!!!! just read it!!!!!

Quote:
Volunteer - one caring heart is all it takes to make a difference.

Volunteers lighten the load. Volunteers open their hearts.

Volunteers take the time to lend a helping hand.

Thank you for being who you are
and doing what you do.
Who you are is wonderful,
What you do is important!
(Can be put on cards to give out)

Volunteers open their hearts.

A Cheer for Volunteers
Many will be shocked to find when the day of judgement nears,
That there's a place in heaven set aside for volunteers.
Furnished with big recliners, satin couches and foot stools.
Where there are no committee chairmen,
No yard sales or rest area coffee to serve,
No library duty or bulletin assembly.
There will be nothing to print and staple,
Not one thing to fold and mail,
Telephone lists will be outlawed.
But a finger snap will bring cold drinks and gourmet dinners,
And all rare treats fit for a king.
You ask, "Who'll serve the privileged few? And work for all they're worth?"
Why, all those who reaped the benefits, and not once volunteered on earth!

Volunteers deserve a special place in heaven.

There is a special place in heaven reserved for volunteers.

Volunteers do it willingly

A volunteer gives from the heart.

A Volunteer is like a shade tree
Beside a summer way.
A Volunteer is like the sunshine
That makes a perfect day.
A Volunteer is like a flower
That's worn close to the heart.
A Volunteer is like a treasure
With which one should never part.

A VOLUNTEERS JUDGEMENT DAY

Many will be shocked to find
When the day of judgement nears-
That there's a special place in heaven
Set aside for volunteers.
Furnished with big recliners
Satin couches and footstools-
Where there's no committee Chairman
No groups leaders or car pools,
No eager team that needs a coach,
No bazaar and no bake sale,
There will be nothing to staple
Not one thing to fold or mail.
Telephone lists will be outlawed,
But a finger snap will bring
Cool drinks and gourmet dinners
and rare treats fit for a queen.
You ask "Who'll serve these privileged few,
And work for all they're worth?"
Why, all those who reaped the benefits
and not once volunteered on earth!
-Author Unknown--

WHAT ARE VOLUNTEERS?

Volunteers are like Ford....
They have better ideas.
Volunteers are like Coke...
They're the real thing.
Volunteers are like Pan-Am...
They make the going great.
Volunteers are like Pepsi...
They've got a lot to give.
Volunteers are like Dial Soap...
They care more; Don't you wish everybody did?
Volunteers are like VO5 Hair Spray....
Their goodness holds in all kinds of weather.
Volunteers are like Hallmark Cards....
They care enough to give their very best.
Volunteers are like Standard Oil....
You expect more and you get it.
BUT MOST OF ALL.....
Volunteers are like Frosted Flakes....
They are GREEEAAAT!

It's never too late
To thank a volunteer.
A few words of gratefulness
Are always nice to hear.
They're always around
When a job needs to be done.
Things run a whole lot smoother,
And everyone has fun.
You realize this person
Has a very gracious heart,
Because every time you need them
They always do their part.
Now some of them are helpers
Who give workers a little lift.
They remeber to say "Thank You".
God blessed them with this gift.
So remember, in the future,
There's two words they like to hear.
It's your chance to be a nice guy,
Just say "Thank You, Volunteer!"

A volunteer is like a rare gem.
When placed in the right setting and cared for,
they will shine and give pleasure
to all who see them.

Volunteers are not servants.
Volunteers are partners working
together for improving America's future.

Volunteers are not paid because
they are worthless, but because
they are priceless.

Volunteers give the time of their lives.

Volunteers don't necessarily have the time
but they have the heart.

A Volunteer is a person who believes
that people can make a difference -
and is willing to prove it.

The gift of time is priceless.
Here's to the volunteers:
Those dedicated people who
believe in all work and no play

To Our Volunteer
You've been so very good to us.
You've been kind in every way.
You've made us treats and helped us out
On every special day.
Today we'd like to thank you
For all you've done this year,
And tell you that you're special
And oh so very dear.
Today we'd like to tell you
In our own little special way,
We appreciate the things you've done,
More than words can say.

Not many of us oldtimers are left, Ireland.

Many came to this forum to read, learn, and have fun. Seems these days, nothing but hate exists here.

IMHO, most left because of the hate and ridicule those members received. Same thing happened to other forums, and they died too.

Yes it has been a long, long, long, long, L O N G, time. Not always the best of health for me for the past few years.

Jan, please do me one favor, , , , ,remove the semi nude photo from your shoutbox,or crop the pic revealing only the hands and fingers.

The oldtimers here, know of the arguments I've been in... Way too many!
