I bought a fliptop for my V12 PS2 (and SM 3.6). It seems like since i've installed it, it's been kinda loose. I'm pretty sure I installed it firmly and correctly though.

The problem is: when i'm trying to load a game, I have to be EXTRA careful when changing discs. If I put any pressure whatsoever on the bottom left side of the fliptop, then it will trigger the sensor that knows whether the tray top had been open or not, then, I get the 'not valid ps2 disc' error, and I have to power off and load it up again.

If I PULL UP on the BOTTOM RIGHT side, then it will also trigger the sensor in the same way.

If I accidentally do that while playing a game then, again, it will trigger the sensor and it won't load the game, and I'll have to load Swapmagic again and so on.

So does anyone else have this problem? I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly, and screwed it in just right. Not too tight and not too loose?

How tightly do you guys tighten the screws?

What part of the fliptop was loose exactly? And where did you apply the super glue?

Also, if I look at my fliptop from the front side, it looks like it's bent. It curves a bit... I think that's the way it was when I purchased it.

Well i was gettin VERY mad that everytime i touched the stupid ps2 lid, it made me redo everything because the screen read invalid disc... all i did really is pull up the part where the fliptop was coming up and applied SUPER GLUE to both the sides and then pushed them down together... then WHILE HOLDING IT TOGETHER, apply some more super glue to the area, You Know, FOR THAT EXTRA GRIP :) - After that YOU NEED TO LET THE SUPER GLUE DRY (YES HOLD IT FOR THE 25-20+ Minutes that it might need to fully dry or else it wont stay together... Did i sit down and hold it for that long? Heck No! I pushed my Slim PS2 under my laptop ONLY on to of the corner where i need to apply pressure, then i put a little more weight (with a digital camera) just to add that extra weight & pressure... After i did that i left for about 30 mins to maybe an hour, when i came back and removed my PS2 from under my laptop... Viola! It was stuck together now all i do is PLAY "INVALID DISC" FREE!!! I even tryed to make the message come up by touching the edges and playing with the top and NOPE, its solid now! I can play all my games without stupid messages and timewasting "INVALID PS2 DISC" errors... try it, and let me know what happens...

Hi
I'm getting the same sort of problems all backups work with slide card, but not all with flip top . My only differance is mine is a chunky ps2 so I was just wondering are the sensors still the same on the two machines and if so could I use the tape and tissue mod. Also still cant figire out were you put the glue!!!. My main reason for wanting to use flip top is my 7 year old left handed and heavy handed son.
