After becoming so frustrated with DVDNextCopy and their tech support this week I uninstalled it and installed CloneDVD2. I was immediately impressed. It worked and I burned a great DVD which then played on all 4 of my stand alones. Then tried it again and copied a 2.5 hr movie. The read went well the write did not. I received the message "Source Data Too Large" To write this DVD file please use the "Copy DVD Titles' or "Clone DVD" option. That is what I had done.

I have search here for help but could not find a post with a similar issue. Hopefully it is something simple that I am not doing.

I would appreciate any help!

Thanks

Welcome to aD!
Check and make sure you have CloneDVD set to 'DVD5".
You have a blank dvd in the drive right?

Thanks for the welcome!

Yes, I have 2 burners installed. There was media. I have been using ProDisc 8X media. I just received an order of Taiyo Yuden 8X. As a trial I just a few minutes ago opened a new disc and replaced the Prodisc. It copied just fine. I have played it on 3 different stand alones and it worked fine.

I also tried to play it on Windows Media Player. The video was fine but no audio. Has to be an issue with Media Player. It seems I have had that before. I think I just need a better player, but can't decide which one. I had WinDVE but had a lot of conflicts with other programs. Sorr, did not mean to get off on a tangent.

I am about to try a new copy and burn to see if indeed all is well now with the change in media.

Thanks for the reply!

Prodisc has given me problems before though usually burn failures or playback problems. Now those TY's are great media! I mainly what I use. Good choice!
For a media player well can't be of too much help there. Besides Windows media player I use Real Player (free version) or Nero's Showtime. I've had no problems with any of them.

Try WinDVD7 (which I think is the best program to play back DVDs on the comp) or PowerDVD. Both are really good programs. They offer lots of features and options.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Glad to hear your well on your way to many successful burns!
Right now there's nothing the combo you're using can't handle.
I like it too - very easy to keep the menus and then uncheck what I don't want.
I also like the option in AnyDVD to show the info on the disc including the copy protection on it and going straight to the menu removing the annoying junk!
Happy Burning!!
