I am systemless. A pretty sad state of affairs if you ask me. Well, I won't go into the details as to how I became this way, but would rather ask if anyone has a PSX emu that they prefer over others. I checked out zophar.net -- but there were no clear winners listed there.

Can anyone suggest a PSX emu that has decent compatibility rates (hoping to play some SOTN) and runs smoothe?

P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17 [video]
Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 [sound]
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. [cd-rom]

I am running a Dell 9300 1.7 Pentium M with 1GB of RAM and a Radeon Mobility X300 w/128MB. I am using Daemon to mount my images. I am using Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones which are connected to my Creative Audigy 2 PCMIA card. I am currently playing Castlevania SOTN and it runs fairly flawlessly. The sound was giving me some trouble, so I switched to the above mentioned plugin. It works a lot better now. I wish I could keep my framerate at 60fps though -- it usually runs around 55-60. Probably wouldn't notice a difference, but I would think that it would be possible since the image mounted on my HD should be a lot faster than a CD-ROM. Also, there are some areas of the game where the sound is a bit "unbalanced" -- by that I mean that the harmony and melody are sometimes inversed as to where their volume levels should be at. I have gotten around this by messing with my EAX settings on my sound card.
