Are Sony MIJ manufactured by TY as good as Verbs and TY's?

Hi all. Best BUY just put some Sony DVD-r 8x on sale for 14.99. They are made in Japan. I just used DVD Identifier to find that they are manufactured by Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd. ID TY02. I keep reading that different fellas only use TY and Verbs MIJ. So are these Sony's on the same level - being made in japan and by TY?

Yup. they are great, I seem to have lucked out 'cuz my Sony's are 16X, TYG003...1-16X. I have used lots of Fuji MIJ 8X DVD which code out to TYG002 and they are awesome... You'll enjoy these disks..

the sony ty's and the regular unbranded ty's are the same thing.. pending you get the same speed.

Hefner413 - basically The Sony MIJ media is equal to the Taiyo Yuden Media that carries the same MID code - The only practical difference you may notice is in Cosmetics - The sony's Being Branded with the sony logo ect Vs. The Taiyo yudens More Generic / Thermal printable or inkjet printable label surfaces - as far as your computer/burner & or dvd recorder are concerned they are the same ! hope that this answers your question ?
