I need some help here...I installed my fliptop, but when i try putting any disc into it, and turn the power on, the ps2 laser doesnt even move let alone read the cds....did i install the fliptop wrong or something? The power works fine, i can get to the ps2 browser and config screen but when i use the fliptop, it wont load, but it will w/ my original fliptop...help please
Ya I took apart my factory fliptop to put aftermarket fliptop on and now my laser isnt moving, my PS2 seems to work fine otherwise, I can see the ps2 browser and config screen but it wont load any cds now, help please!!
dang i dont know what to tell ya, all i could say is good luck... i hope its something fixable, try seeing if something is out of place around the laser area, or even if something is blocking the laser from spinning...
you might wanna check how you have the flip top installed. there are two switches on the ps2 that the flip top is supposed keep in the on or down position.
If so, You might forgotten to install that white thingy into the Fliptop cover. It comes with it.
If it doesnt, use the old one that already in the ps2.

I recently purchase the fliptop for my PS2slim, and when I installed it, the PS2 would turn on, but would not read the CD's or DVD's. But when I installed the origianl top, it worked just fine. The problem with my fliptop was that the measurements where not to the original specifications, and the aftermarket fliptop was not activating a small grey press switch located in the rear of the PS2. When you remove the top PS2 cover look at the back-middle end of the console, and you should see a little (TINY) grey box back with a little triangle coming out. That little triangle has to be pressed down along with the other press switch located on the top of the power buttom. Since your fliptop may be the same as mine, just place a pieace of tape on the press buttons and your good to go.
