Its 19.75 kB (20229 bytes) , way under the allowed limit of 50kb.

Also, length & height wise its OK too, did it in Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Some video iPods have virus

p2pnet.net News:- Apple Computer is seriously piqued with Bill and the Boyz because Microsoft Windows isn't "more hardy" against viruses such as RavMonE.exe.

The company's is upset by the fact some video iPods shipped after September 12 are infected with said virus.

Less than 1%, "left our contract manufacturer carrying the Windows RavMonE.exe virus," and "RavMonE.exe affects only Windows computers" and, "up to date anti-virus software which is included with most Windows computers should detect and remove it," says Apple.

"So far we have seen less than 25 reports concerning this problem," says a statement. "The iPod nano, iPod shuffle and Mac OS X are not affected, and all Video iPods now shipping are virus free.

"As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it," says the company, not passing up the chance for a few more hefty digs at Microsoft.

"Because this Windows virus propagates via mass storage devices, we recommend that you scan any mass storage devices that you have recently attached to your Windows computers such as external hard drives, digital cameras with removable media, and USB flash drives," it declares, adding:

"While this Windows virus does not affect Mac OS X or the iPod itself, Mac customers can use iTunes 7 to easily restore the software on their newly purchased Video iPod to ensure that it does not carry this Windows virus. The Video iPod can then be used on a Windows computer without concern."

There's no mention of how the virus got onto the iPods in the first place.

Britain's First "Web-Rage" Attack
Posted by CmdrTaco on Wednesday October 18, @08:28AM
from the why-can't-people-just-get-along dept.
The Internet
brown-eyed slug writes "The BBC is reporting what is claimed to be Britain's first "web-rage" attack. A man drove seventy miles to assault his victim with a pick-axe handle after they exchanged insults in a Yahoo! chat room. From the article Det Cons Christopher Creagh, of the Metropolitan Police, said: "This is the first instance of a web-rage attack." Det Sgt Jean-Marc Bazzoni, of Essex Police, added the case demonstrates the importance of protecting one's identity on the internet. "Mr Jones had posted pictures of his family on the web and had chatted to Gibbons on an audio link," he said. "It demonstrates how easily other users can put two and two together and also shows how children could also find themselves in danger."

Thats unbelievable, people must really be shockingly retarded, I've had my fair share of offensive PM's, but I'm not prepared to drive seventy miles to pic-axe someone...

Mr.Jones should have bided my Yahoo! chats rules an not given out his address or personal details, that gets my bitch for today.

THIS WAS SENT TO ME IN A E-MAIL

This incident happened recently in North Texas.

A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She died on Wednesday.

The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from, not using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.

Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.

Please forward this message to all the people you care about.

@rihgt....careful when enlisting in the navy. There are some jobs where they take you out of the navy and put you in the marine corps ... I was one of them. Marine corps medical personal are taken out of the navy. I'm not saying this to knock someone going into the military, that is a laudable thing, but as much as I actually enjoyed the marine corps, I believe that practice is wrong. Make sure you look up whatever sort of school you'll be going to...don't ask the recruiter; look it up on the net.

@rihgt682,
Just remember when you swear your oath of enlistment or oath of comissioning, you pledge your life to our wonderful commander in chief, whoever he/she may be. Just because you enlist in the Navy doesn't mean that you will be working for the Navy, you could wind up working for some other government agency on some other branch's base or facility. Heck, I knew a few people who once they left basic/tech school stopped wearing the uniform to work each day, so if you end up in the right career field, you may end up in a very unusual assignment. Gerry1 is correct, don't believe your recruiter, unless it is clearly spelled out in your contract, it isn't guaranteed or promised
Once you are in, you go where, when, how they want you to go. It really depends upon the needs of the military at that time. Keep in mind that unlike the regular Olympics which are held every four years, the "Mental Midget Olympics" run 24/7 in the government. Gold medal performances show up all of the time and when you least expect it. Having a set of gold bars usually indicates a strong contender for a medal winning performance.
But seriously, I loved the time I spent in the Air Force and will always speak highly of the military as a chosen career. FYI I was never permenently assigned to an Air Force base which actually had a working airplane on it. The best food I ever had was onboard a navy ship i the Med, the worst was in an Army chow hall. Enough about the ramblings of an old codger, enjoy your enlistment and travel as much as you can while on leave.

so that works out to 428$ USD/Yr or 35$ USD/Mo which isn't all too bad, or am I missing something here??? --given the other non-essentials that proabaly cost more that have nothing to do with high-tech, eh?

Parents with new kids/toddlers spend that much per month on diapers, and then you throw them away - at leat I hope you do.

Broadband access is probably that much per month, yes?

Got beer?

Gasoline/Petrol per tank?

A box of Godiva chocolate?

ok I guess you get my drift....
