Finally somebody with common sense.

Originally posted by ireland:
Spanish judge rules downloading music is legal

A Spanish state's prosecutor's office along with two music distribution associations accused a 48-year-old man of downloading music and offering them on CD via e-mail and chat room requests and aimed to have a two year sentence put against him. However, as there was no proof that this person made a profit from selling CDs and that the Spanish permits the downloading of music for personal use, the northern city of Santander Judge dismissed the case.

This ruling has made a major hit at the Spanish music industry, since it effectively allows Internet users in Spain to freely download and share music without being punished. As a result, the Spanish rerecording industry federation Promusicae plans on appealing the Judge's decision. Spain is also in the process of drafting new legislation to remove consumer's right to private copying.

Unfortunately, it is unclear at this time how much the new drafted legislation will affect Spanish consumers, as a certain level of private copying needs to be allowed in order to allow consumers to transfer CDs to their MP3 player, purchased downloads to CD and so on. Then again, even though consumers in the UK don't think twice of transferring music from CD to their iPod, Creative or other MP3 player, apparently this is actually against the law there.

Yeah Hawthorne the elections are so bad nowadays that it's no wonder anyone bothers to vote. "When nothing changes, nothing changes."

my second bitch of the day..i would read this...

RIAA, Santangelo court doc farce

Everyone has it ---

---- everyone, that is, except the Santangelo family and their lawyer, Jordan Glass.

Because the RIAA (Recording (Industry Association of America), run by EMI (Britain), Vivendi Universal (France) and Sony BMG (Japan and Germany), with Warner Music as the sole US company, chose to use the mainstream media to launch their suit by releasing a suppose court document without bothering to file it with a court.

I just got one of those telephone messages today. Now they have the TV and the phone. Good thing that nobody call on the home phone. Only reason I have it is for the DSL. Maybe someday I will only have the cell. Verizon is giving a pretty good deal on unlimited access for the net. They claim DSL speed, anybody out there know of this as fact or are they full of shigit.

Lol quite.
I am in the UK and it's all over the news here too.
To be honest, I couldn't give a sh*t who won the mid terms seeing as I don't live in the US...

Edit: I'm also too young to even care about politics in my own country; let alone another one!

:-P

well I am 30 in the US and give a damn but fck the system is broken and no one wants to fix it thus the 2 parties are the same,a 3rd party would be nice but without 100+ thousand like minded people to vote constantly against the "let us continue set" the corperations have a better chance to full undermine th goverment before it will get fixed....

the euro system is as fickle ,cant really say if I know if its as bad as it is here....

The phone messages really pissed me off because I was on vacation. If I check my messages away from home,I know there are no mesages if it will ring a third time. It sort of ticked me off that I got stuck paying long distance charges to check my messages which were all these long winded political messages on my machine. I don't envy those who have to put up with people knocking on their door on top of it!

Always wanted to be a procrastinator, but never got around to it.

When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

Just when you think you've hit bottom, someone tosses you a shovel.

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory.

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right,
there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

my little bitch for today, why did i not think of that..

Creaky love surfing the Web, and he keep track of his passwords by writing them on Post-it notes. I noticed his Disney password was "MickeyMinnieGoofyPluto," and so I asked why it was so long.
"Because," Creaky explained, "they say it has to have at least four characters."

Good Grief. And people wonder why there are so many closed threads, people being banned, "senior members" running around acting like 2 yr olds...

With posts like that, it is no surprise...

Ripper, What do aD status's mean these days m8?

Nout with them kiddies posting like that in the console forums, as soon as they hit senior they assume they are something special...technically, thats what Senior Member should mean, unfortunately, its quite on the contrary.
