Dumb crook-of-the-day story
Thieves who stole global positioning systems (GPS) from a warehouse in New York state were apprehended after authorities activated the tracking devices to locate them, police said Monday. Fourteen GPS were stolen last week from a warehouse in Babylon, New York. The town had planned to use them to track its municipal fleet of vehicles.
Police and municipal staff said they remotely activated the devices and were led to the home of one of the culprits who was found fiddling with one of them.
The thieves believed they had snagged cell phones and planned to sell them, he told AFP. Three people face charges.

This topic is showing up in the news only as a consequence of the police shooting story. Residents of this Atlanta community demanded that city officials come talk to them, and city officials got an earful. The kicker? City council members did not know that the law the residents complained about being arrested under even existed. This is representation?
Atlanta Ordinance Allows Police To Arrest Just About Anybody
DC-6 is the most frequent non-traffic offense cited by Atlanta police. As of Dec. 18, 7,551 DC-6 arrests ? about 22 a day ? were made in 2006, outpacing criminal trespass at 5,407 and drinking in public at 4,621.
Some City Council members and city officials weren?t even familiar with the ordinance until it came to their attention at public meetings organized in the wake of the Nov. 21 home-invasion killing by police of an 88-year-old woman.
According to the DC-6 ordinance: ?It shall be unlawful for any person [to] ? be in or about any place where gaming or the illegal sale or possession of alcoholic beverages or narcotics or dangerous drugs is practiced, allowed or tolerated[.]?
What that means, essentially, is that a person can be arrested simply for being in what police designate as a ?known drug area? ? even if he or she just walks down the street or chats with a neighbor. That?s problematic, says American Civil Liberties Union Legal Director Gerry Weber, because the law is so ambiguous that it invites discriminatory enforcement and therefore may be unconstitutional.
Weber says the ACLU is seeking the right case for a legal challenge.
WXIA notes, ?The problem is nearly half the cases are thrown out of court. And that?s why many consider it a legalized form of police abuse.?

My very last client wanted government money to go to school because, as a truck driver, he has to take physicals and whenever they test your blood pressure or your eyesight, they take the good blood pressure and eyesight out of you and leave only the bad so if he has one more physical, he'll be left myopic with BP pressures. @ireland the police can arrest anyone for anything below is some examples of this
a friend of mine got arrest 5times and fined $50 for peeing in public(in a dark alley whilse under the influence of marijuana&alcohol)
a friend of mine got a $250 on the spot for swearing in front of a cop.
a rich friend of mine had just got a brand new ford festiva and me alone with a few other teenagers were in his car when the cops stopped us they didnt arrest him for anything as we were all law abidding but he did tell me m8 to stop being a smart ass or he'd defect the car.my m8 simply looked a him and said "wat for its brand new under warrenty touch it and i will take it back to the dealer and sue u for damaging my car"the cop simply looked at him and said "we could probly find a minor oil leek but its a waste of time"and he walked off and let us go.

Boys Face Charges Of Taping Sexual Assault On Children
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Two 13-year-old boys are accused of videotaping themselves sexually assaulting two 5-year-olds and a 3-year-old and also taping sexual contact between three young children, according to Lincoln police.
The alleged felony occurred at one of the boys' homes, about a block away from an elementary school.
Court records show that the tape includes the voice believed to be one of the 13-year-old boys. He talks about making a "sex video."
The victims, police said, are two 5-year-old girls and a 3-year-old boy.
"The videotape obviously contains one incident of sexual contact between the boys and the victims in the case," said Lincoln police spokeswoman Kerri Crosby.
According to court records, the brother of one of the 13-year-old boys found the video. The video, police said, shows one of the 13-year-olds using a device on one of the girls while the other teen was operating the camera. When police later reviewed the tape, an investigator said, it appeared the girl was in pain.
"The sexual perpetrations of one of the victims was a violent act," Crosby said.
The reports show that the video also shows one 5-year-old girl lying on a bed on top of the other 5-year old. The 3-year-old boy is also on the bed, exposed from the waist down, police reports show.
Court records show that several adult family members also reviewed the tape. When first contacted by police, the grandmother of one 13-year-old boys said the family had not decided if they wanted to involve law enforcement. According to the report, she said she "just wanted to get her grandson help for what he did."
"When the videotape was discovered there was some concern about what to do with it," Crosby said.
A psychologist from the Child Guidance Center in Lincoln said that about 20 percent of children at the center have had inappropriate sexual behavior. The experts attributed it to a number of sources, including more awareness and reporting of the problem, pornography on the Internet and children who abuse that are themselves victims of sexual abuse.
"They lose the capacity to recognize appropriate behaviors," said the center's Nancy Mize.
Mize also said many families struggle over whether to involve police. These incidents are often brought to light when families seek counseling for their child, and then health experts are required by law to contact authorities if they believe a child has been harmed.
Lincoln Officer Katherine Finnell said the boys were taken to Lancaster County Juvenile Detention Center.
Both of the boys were on probation in juvenile court when the tape was found last week. One was sentenced in December for burglary and criminal mischief. The other boy had been on probation for burglary and assault since August.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Two teenagers accused of duct-taping a puppy's snout and paws and cooking the animal alive in an oven pleaded guilty Friday to animal cruelty and other offenses.
Prosecutors said Joshua Moulder, 17, and his brother, Justin, 19, broke into a newly refurbished community center, where they tortured and killed the 3-month-old puppy, damaged computers, broke glass and splattered paint on the walls.
The brothers then brought neighborhood children to see the dead puppy and threatened to kill them if they reported it, prosecutors said.
They will be sentenced next month.

We have 7 dogs so to say that I am 'outraged' is an understatement!! All our pooches are very much part of our family and we love them dearly so the "idea" of microwaving a dog disgusts me!! What kind of morons are we bringing into life? Give em a tate of there own medicine I say!!

I think those kids should be tied up and put in an oven. Maybe not to the extent of death (as they didn't cook another human) but to the extent of some slight pain. Then they should be locked up in a cell for at least thirty years.
Twenty for killing the poor dog and ten for witness tampering, I don't know what the sentence for it is but in the case I would say at least five years.
Nothing to bitch about yet today, other then this rotten news of the dog torturers, as the day has just started (its only 12:30pm here).

Wow, someone should beat those two kids senseless. I would myself if I could get a ride to their home.
I'd wrap wires around their fingers and tighten them slowly till the skin broke. Then I'd use rusty pliers to "deglove" their fingers and then crush the bones... I won't say more... too violent for the younger readers.
But those kids are f***ed up in the head. They seriously need some painful punishment. I'd like to see how they take to slow painful torture like they did that puppy.
