I find it amazing that people take petty squabbles with people they don't even know online so seriously.
I've had a disagreement or two with a few people over the years on this site, but nothing that would ever affect me coming on here and helping folks out & generally having fun.
I mean for Christ's sake, do you people not lead real lives too? Methinks some people in here need a hobby.

/me is getting tired of all this - I'm probably being hipocritical here cos I was more than involved, but whatever.
I don't care who's right or wrong anymore as two of the members I respected most here have now left - Jan and another who shall remain nameless.

Oh yes, I saw that.
I can't help but think I played a part in his leaving..
I have the utmost respect for Neph and would like to think him and I get on reasonably well around the forums...
When you look at it from his point of view, it puts things in perspective a little. A lot of us get somewhat caught up in all of the commotion, and forget to take a step back and think...

well, we all know the solution: ban them all!
tons of people, from newbie right up to addict (myself included) need to be kicked out for a bit to gain a new understanding of what AD is: it's a helpful tech forum, and that's *it*. it's not a place for all the other bull.
we're all taking it a bit too seriously, and that's plainly an issue. after may 11, i'll either be on a lot less, or gone completely for about 3 months, so that's my contribution to reduction of RAAWWRR TEH DRAMA! what's yours? :-P

Well, after about a month or so, my GCSE's will be done.
That means. Huge rave. Party. Huge. I cant wait.
Ill still be on aD though, just not as much for a while.
Just promise me Aus...you WILL come back right?

You need an IRC client of sorts installed for them to work. Either mIRC (program) or ChatZilla (Firefox app) will do.

Well, I've been told to "grow thicker skin", "quit taking things too personally", and called a "Dim Bulb".
I am still here, and have not given up the fight to make this world, or this forum better than when I first came to it.

i want ye all to know i and jaybo tried to stop the shout box problem..when it started..we have a Moderators' lounge on another part of afterdawn,all the site mods here can get in..
i am pissed off,if it could of been stopped neph would of still be with us..

Any arguements should have taken place off the forum, and discussions could have been pursued thru PM's and IRC's. Forums are public, anyone can read what was said, and just because you think something is deleted, , , ,it isn't, there are logs of information hidden, but can be found.

The last couple of weeks have been hell on this site. Some things meant to be funny were taken seriously, common sense was thrown to the wind. I hope this site can come back to the happy site as when I joined, with the sharing of wisdom and knowledge again.I hope every one cools down and does a retake and comes back because each and everyone in his or her special way leads the way. @ ireland I took in your volunteer list today at the Senior center where i worked and reading over it spells out quite a quality of life, I hope all members take the time to read it and reflect on it.Peace to all. Chris

Your right, and I hope everyone takes a few days to let things cool down, seen these type of situations before, didn't like it, and I left for awhile.
Being on the DVDXCopy side of things, it didn't take that long to get burned out. I decided to limit my postings, and not let to much get to me.
