Thank you for all your help.
That was easy and painless. I uninstalled primary and secondary IDE channels. rebooted, Reinstalled hardware and re-booted again.
But, It still takes 8 hrs & 29 minutes to encode using DVD Shrink 3.2.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks so very much

Hi,
@babygpep can you post your pc specs like memory, internal or external drive that you are using, if external is it usb 1.1 or 2.0. From what I've read I'm leaning towards your memory.

Old moses is a Intel Pentium II Processor 397 MHz,640 MB OF RAM
I have 76.3 GB Of Memory
E:DVD ROM SONY DDU1615 F:CD/DVD R/RW TOSHIBA SD-R5372 Internal drives
I just replaced usb hub 4 port from a lower hub, to USB V 1.1.
Do I need to change the wires too?
I'm gonna de-frag to see if that helps.

Hi,
Quote: just replaced usb hub 4 port from a lower hub, to USB V 1.1.
Usb 1.1 is about half the speed of usb 2.0 so as a note anything you connect externally will run considerably slower especially if you are transferring files.

Wow that is old at pentium II and processor is almost crawling compared to most pcs today. That my friend may be the cause of the slow speed using dvdshrink. You have more than enough memory but older systems tend to not run as smooth as later models (i.e. pentium IV compared to your pentium II). Have you gotten higher end speeds with other projects or is this your first backup? In either event until you decide to buy a faster system I think you will not see an increase in speed. Also if memory serves me correctly dvd decrypter and dvdshrink came out around the time when pentium III was in transition to pentium IV (market-wise).

That should be your hard drive and is commonly known as an 80gb drive (note: your hard drive capacity will usually not be as 'advertised'). You actually have 640mb of memory which means you have a 512mb stick and a 128mb stick.
By no means am I an expert and if I am wrong I'm sure someone will come along and correct my assessment.
